Hello Dave1988,

While there are dangers associated with using mismatched cells I understand the desire to check the light out and see how it works.

I think you could safely use your light with your mismatched cells under the following conditions.

1. Use a timer and limit the run time to 10 minutes or less.
2. Fully charge your cells.
3. After 10 minutes of use, put the cells back on the charger and charge them back up.
4. After you are through for the day, take the cells out and leave the light empty.

If you notice the battery compartment of the light getting hot, shut the light off and remove the cells.

This does not take into account any voltage under load mismatch that may come from mismatched cells, but by limiting the discharge time you will most likely keep yourself out of trouble.

As with all things in life there are no guarantees. The risk is that the mismatched cells will go into thermal runaway and ruin the light. If you can live with that very low probability occurrence go for it.

Of course the best course of action is to wait until your new cells arrive.

Thanks Tom! I waited just to be safe. As expected it is an animal, more artifacts around the hotspot than I would've expected but other than that brilliant.

caddylover have you added any more to you stash or is 3 enough?? Lol

no way to see the different levels without having them side-by-side:) I can't tell the difference, they're all the same to me. I'll sell two of them when the demand is up:D$$$

It's my best thrower! And the almost complete lack of spill (except for right in front of you) makes that throw all the more evident.

Thanks for the input, gents...

I'll be getting one within several weeks :D

Wonder how it will compare to the TK61vn...Vinh made the 61 a monster!

If you could be so kind, please report your comparisons! Unless you are on the ocean or an enormously open area, a light with a less tight hotspot may be preferable. But I have no actual experience.

Look at the bright side, some of us ordered in January of 2013 and waited until August of 2013 for ours. It is well worth the wait though. Enjoy.
