Does anyone know what the output of a V5 219b triple is on a single 18350 cell? I want to wait for that option on the Boss 35, since it can't run 3500 lumen full output anyway.

Couldn't resist taking some more photos.

I was sure I'd start carrying the BOSS in the 70 format but seeing it in the 35 format I can't resist carrying it in the smaller form factor for a while. It basically weighs nothing and you can see where it fits size-wise with a few other small lights I had around.

Sorry for all the photos!

First 3 glamour shots are with my SLR, rest are from my smart phone.

Roughly estimated..... 17W, ~4 amp about 1000 lm ~1100lm or less OTF lumen . 60~65% or less intensity(throw distance). 25% more CRI. I could be wrong.....

I have found one issue... I can't change the optic because the bezel is on so tight. I have a frosted narrow optic drilled for trits, but I just can't get the dang thing off!

Edit: Just bought 2 small strap wrenches... I'm sure these will come in handy for other lights and things.

BOSS bezel ring threads are intended to lock closed at room temperatures. So run the light on high for a minute before trying to open.

Heat it up when closing to lock it back down.

I didn't know this. Good nugget of info for the future.

Here's a quick and dirty comparison between the 4500K Redome and the 4000K High Intensity. I'm using a E series triple (Redome) vs the BOSS (HI). The 4000K HI is noticeably tighter in the same optic :D

Let me know if you want any more beamshots, I'm growing a collection of V5 lights :naughty:

XPL 4500K Redome frosted medium -> XPL 4500K Redome clear narrow -> XPL 4000K HI clear narrow -> N219 clear narrow

Shipping Update

Burning the midnight oil preparing sets 4 and 5. These were not as ready before launch and are taking extra time:

Re: New B.O.S.S Flashlight?

https://mobilitymgmt.com/articles/2010/03/01/aluminum-vs-titanium.aspx?m=1

Bottom line to the article, titanium is inferior to aluminum unless the tubing etc on the Ti is intelligently made thinner, much thinner, than the aluminum. Personally, if you can sit on it, stand on it, strong enough. Overkill is always counter productive.

Hydroforming aluminum..... Will need to look into, sounds interesting.

Re: New B.O.S.S Flashlight?

Looks all sold out now. Congrats for those of the lucky 300.
I didn't have my money right for the first batches. But with some planning, I am prepping to jump in on the next batch. I would be a player on a Amber Patina Combo.
