Don't know what's happened here but this spring looks inferior to the rest (steel v gold?) and it's far shorter, one of the batteries hasn't been making contact.

Hope this isn't dangerous as the light was getting super hot in seconds, even on lower levels.

I wouldn't use it anymore. It may be the same spring, but looks like it may have gotten super-heated which will change the patina of the metal.

Yep, batteries are out and it's back in its box, hopefully I can get it sent back for a refund. I was using this near my 5yo son too today :(
I am not Vinh, but Vinh has a friendly return policy, so you should have no problem.

I have been just waiting to decide when to purchase the X45vn; but I am emailing Vinh right now: If you return this particular item for a refund, and if this particular item is repairable and upgraded to the new driver that is coming in several days, I will purchase it from Vinh. :)

Well I took the X45vn out tonight and torture tested it. More accurately, I torture tested my hand! LOL
I got it as hot as I could hold it, on turbo, and it performed flawlessly.

Due to the tightly wound double springs that are in a carrier designed for longer protected Acebeam batteries I found my fat tops fitted too loosely and the button tops way too tight due to lack of spring compression.

VTC5A with solder top will be just right :)

I'm not sure---I'm only going from past experiences in building lights--when you draw so much current sometimes it causes current ripples making the voltage do crazy things---More than likely with some not quite so high drain cells the light will work fine--also with the cells below 4.05 v more than likely it will function fine also-- Richard has helped me and most likely helping Vinh with this problem--He is the driver GURU

Interesting. I'm still trying to imagine how current can "ripple" and how that affects voltage... or mess with the functionality of a light. I got a lot to learn apparently!

Two of my springs are just under 9mm and two are just over 10mm, if they were all 9.5mm then both my FT and BT Sonys would fit perfectly. I don't mind forcing BT's into a light but this light requires frequent charges and forcing batteries any higher than Sony flat tops in and out would be a huge strain on the springs and battery wrap.

send it back to vinh and he will fix it with new driver and the battery holder to he is a profetional

How long before the light got too hot to hold in Turbo? Was there a noticeable drop in output after only a couple minutes? KG Tuning had his problems and posted a video showing how his sample dropped to about 16000 lumens after only a couple blasts on Turbo, and how it was too hot to hold after only about 20 seconds. I'm trying to see how much of that is from his defective sample, and how much is just the reality of pushing 25000 lumens through a small light with only 4 cells.

I can do the heat test tomorrow on the x45vn.

I think the quick drop in lumens experienced by KG was due to him having a bad circuit. He listed other circuit problems.

I could not visually see a decline, but eyes don't detect smaller, gradual declines.

Before reporting the time to get hot, I must point out that it was 82 degrees F. I live in tropical South Florida where all lights get hot fast.

The X45vn took more than twice as long to get hot as my TN36UTvn. I had the X45vn on turbo for over two minutes and I can't run the TN36UTvn on turbo over one minute.

That's interesting, thanks for the good info. This one is rapidly coming onto the radar. [emoji4]

But do I go for NW or CW? For a lumen monster like this perhaps CW for maximum impact? I love 5000K but it can lack the punch of the cooler temps. 🤔

I am extremely adverse to blue white light, and this X45vn 6500K does not have any blue in it to my, or my son's eye.

Like Vinh described it, pure white. I have no regrets going with 6500K in this light.

I love hearing torture testing is done. How is your stock, I imagine it is really getting ready to be more popular now.

I have like 100 X45vn to fulfill orders. I cant afford another financially and trouble for you guys so I still want to test each thoroughly before they ship.
