Hi there, if you wanna something that would produce a visible beam in clear sky, you need at least 200+W of short-arc and good reflector.

In this thread there is a graph showing glass type vs UV

Re: Fire Fox FF-5 Beam-shots. This thing is a monster !!!
I'm pretty much sure it will block the most dangerous part of UV 150-250 nm as it uses borosilicate glass ( correct me if i'm wrong)
I'm using my Nighthunter xn01 290W MOD, which is using mercury bulb to provide light, and it's all fine...
Well I need to correct that, since our LED’s aren’t using any chemical reaction to provide light
It’s called electroluminesce , and what’s really considered to be an chemical reaction is a fire.
Well you should build your own battery with 18650 or 21700 cells 3 in series.
You can even try to do it without bms plate, just a little overvoltage should help
Good to see any new searchlight build thread!
I just wonder what i would do if any of those big electroformed reflectors dropped in my hands. I would try to resist...

Step by step our psychology adapting xD
I remember 10 years ago it was hard for me carrying 2D-6D MAglite.
Right now i don't care, if i can handle it i will.
Re: 1?? Mcd Xenon Flashlight Project - BFF
If you have some ferrite rings may be you can wrap the wire around it and make inductor!
I still think you can also make a EMI shield around your BMS IC's but it should be grounded or at least to be connected with a body. Attach some wire to the...
Re: 1?? Mcd Xenon Flashlight Project - BFF
Between 10 KHz to 20 KHz ignition circutry
But the actual EMI comes from the arc so it should match the ripple noise.
Something between 80 Hz to 200 Hz
