    as far as the question regarding charging your beacon battery with teh stock vehicle electrical signal...this is not a problem really...there are battery isolation devices readily available that would allow the charging and use of your aux battery without fear of killing the start battery etc.

    Just for fun: Terralux Eco Flare (chemlight replacement)

    I put a smjled pr2 in its bigger brother the Sport Flare and it made a great LONG running light for emergency use...its simple, waterproof, and tough in general..gave one to everyone in immediate family for BOB etc...wonder how an underdriven cree would work out???

    Flash: SMJLED bulb doesn't fade...

    so what kind of damage would be done running them on 2x lithium aa at approx 3.4 volts? should I put a resistor in there or will it be ok?
