Single Cell CR123A Lights: What do you use?

Streamlight 1L-1AA. I like how I can also use AA and AAA (if you are careful screwing on the cap) in a pinch.

    New Surefire Stiletto

Re: Surefire Stiletto - not sure it’s really 650 lumens at the top end No, but I kept it clipped to the edge of my pocket like a knife. Those guys had it banging around in their pocket with other stuff and had set the order to High-med-low.

Yeah I should have been more clear.... brighter than the the 5 lumen. Like the medium mode on the sidekick.

Wish it had an additional sub 100 lumen mode like 50 lm.

    Surefire Tactician mods

My EDCL1 "gas pedal" tailcap does not work on my Tactician. But my Tactician head does work on my LX2 Lumamax body which has the gas pedal tailcap. It gives you the same low by loosening the head, with the head tight a slight press on the switch gives what seems to be like ~75lumens so it ends...

I am interested in this one as well. Mainly b/c that end button can be configured for high only while still being able to use the side button like a Sidekick.

New for 2018 Streamlight Microstream USB Rechargeable Light

Yeah I saw that in the mrgunsandgear review! Picked one up. Around the house I usually carry the black one and out of the house if I don't want to carry one of my larger lights I carry the coyote brown microstream usb.

Wow on this one. I've had an LX2 sitting around for years and not really happy with the low on the Tactician. I just tried this out. Awesome.

    Surefire tactician

I think the Tactician is a purpose built light that does not excel in EDC utility roles but is great for it's design parameters. I typically carry a utility light along with it.

John, the guy using that technique, uses the Tactician now. So it's probably bright enough??

    Surefire tactician

I have been carrying mine for ~ a week now and am really happy I made the purchase. For the last couple of years I have been carrying various tube lights bezel down so I was a little worried I wouldn't like the Tactician's bezel up orientation. But now I realize it's more consistent and easier...

Help choosing a light to replace E1B

Oops, sorry about the comparison I won't do that again ;). I already have a 6P, my first real light about 12 years old. It's got the 120 lumen head but it's mounted on an 870 and I don't want to remove it. Since I have an L0D on my keychain for utility use this new light would replace my E1B...

Help choosing a light to replace E1B

I'd like to keep it less than $80. I know that probably limits me some but after losing my job I'm trying to get by with less. Also, I prefer the length of a 2 X CR123 light over a single cell. Ok, so the TK only has high and low and it looks like you can start it on High. That's good...

Help choosing a light to replace E1B

OK, ok... I guess I can get by without the strobe. Looks like a lot of votes for the nitecore... The smartpd is more in my price range. Looks like the TK10 might switch between strobe and high if you momentary on/off which I don't want anyway. Thanks for the suggestions!
