So after having used the lights for awhile, I feel like their PWM flickering is just too noticable. Anyone have any suggestions on how I might be able to fix that? I am thinking that perhaps I can replace the driver board, but I don’t have much experience in modding flashlights (but I do have...
Thanks for the info! Wow the Nichia GS can really do 30 lumen with just 30ma? That looks impressive when the newer Sofia LEDs take 170ma to get the same output (but to be fair I suspect the Nichia isn't high CRI). Anyone know how many lumens I can get out of a Nichia CS? I found someone...
It would seem the Sophia one is going to be hard to source. Can anyone here recommend an eBay seller that offers quality 5mm white LEDs (understanding they won't be near as bright)? I found some suggestions in old threads but their links are no longer valid.
Can anyone recommend the best/brightest 5mm LED in 2020? And where/how to buy them? I am hoping to hear you can get more than 28 lumen out of a 5mm now.
I did some testing tonight. The stock circuit is driving the LED at a shade over 2.9V with the current being about 0.45A. It does not appear to be limiting the current because when I drive the LED with the same voltage (from my power supply) I see the same current. I did try driving it with 3.3V...
Has anyone tried to upgrade this light? It has a Cree XP LED on a heatsink and has plenty of battery so not sure why the output is only a measely 130 lumens.

Here is a link to an image of the pivot light with some minor deconstruction:

I ran a capacity test on the included 16340 cells using my smart charger; both registered slightly over their rated capacity with one being 736 and the other being 744 mAh.
My first "real" LED light was probably the ArcMania Super MJ LED upgrade for Mini Maglight Flashlight that I bought from Lighthound back in 2007. I upgrade all my minimags at the time, and I now keep those flashlights in each my cars (with Energizer Lithium batteries).
But back in 2003 I was...
I found a product sheet from Feit and posted that link -- hopefully that's okay. It appears to show these lights use a 16340 battery. I suspected it would be that or a 18350 -- was hoping for the latter because of the potential for more capacity. I do still wonder if it is a protected cell or...
Sorry about that. I have no place to host them so I just had to remove them. I could just put a link to the seller who is a big-box store, but then I'll get in trouble with mod Greta. I did that originally she removed the thread twice (the first with no explanation) accusing me of being a...
You might consider this:
https://www.dorcy.com/shop-now/flashlights/zoom-focus-usb-rechargeable-flashlight
It isn't AA but instead has a built-in li-ion and a micro-USB port for charging. It is a zoomie though! I have had one for about a year and it seems like a nice flashlight. IIRC the...
If anyone has any experience with the flashlight below (or one that looks very similar like the iProtec Pro-500 RC) I would like to hear your opinion of the light. I would also like to know the size of the battery. Thanks...
