    Which AA rechargeable?

I think for most people it doesn't matter if a rechargeable performs with more capacity or higher voltage at first. I think it's more important how it performs over time and under various conditions. I have two Eneloops that have been in an outdoor weather station for over 5 years. They are...

    Zebralight SC64c Smashing Batteries

It seems like that would prevent the light making good contact.

    Zebralight SC64c Smashing Batteries

Not sure if it's a Sanyo problem or a Zebralight problem, but I bought a SC64c to EDC and discovered to my dismay that if it even so much as falls off a coffee table it will smash the top of the NCR18650GA that Zebralight sells with it. Before today I had always assumed that flat-top batteries...

    Review: Fenix TK65R: rechargeable searchlight, XHP70, 3200 lumens; (beams)hots

Re: Review: Fenix TK65IR: rechargeable searchlight, XHP70, 3200 lumens; (beams)hots I guess the mods don't think so since it looks like my response to the review criticizing the light for that exact reason is gone. A big thumbs down to Fenix for trying to monetize lights in this way. The...

University Project - How many lumens required for reading?

Lumens don't matter for this case, Lux matters. Lumens measure how much light is produced by a light source. Lux is how brightly a surface is illuminated.

    Li-Ion Self Dishcarge

Thanks for the tips everyone. One of the packs does self discharge while not connected to the laptop. I have not checked the other for the same. I will do so.

    Li-Ion Self Dishcarge

I have purchased two different battery packs for my laptop which are presumably 18650 cells inside. Both batteries exhibit marked self-discharge (10% a week or more). I was under the impression that lithium chemistry didn't self-discharge that much, even cheap Chinese cells with overstated...

    Let 'em Laugh

When I bought my home, the HVAC inspector was crawling around in my attic with one of those plastic Eveready incandescent jobbies. When I used my TK-41 to light stuff up on occasion he didn't even seem to notice. Some people just don't care.

    Why i favour AAA/AA!!

200 lumens for almost two hours is too short for an EDC light? Rechargeables will outlast alkalines by a long shot in all flashlights. Are you from 1950?

    100W-equivalent price trend?

It's a pretty fast flicker (120Hz on US electricity grid). You wouldn't detect it unless something was moving fast. I notice it on ceiling fans. I don't know why, but it bugs me. I really like most aspects of these bulbs, but that flicker just gets to me. Luckily I have a stash of the Philips...

    100W-equivalent price trend?

That sucks for "bulb down" fixtures. Do they still flicker like the smaller ones?

    MAHA C9000 Finally Died

It's the actual functions. After placing a battery and waiting for a while, the DMM reads nothing except the cell's voltage. It acts like a dirty contact. Just twisting the battery a bit starts the C9000, but everything's super-clean. I can't figure out why it would start doing that.

    MAHA C9000 Finally Died

Yeah. I have hundreds of Eneloops and even a few Rayovacs that I use in remotes, etc. I tried a few from several different batches. Same story on all of them. :(
