Right now I use task-led or deal extreme for drivers, Digi-key for switches, deal extreme for leds, mcmaster-carr for raw materials, battery-space for batteries. Going to try all-battery next though.
I like the Eos as a back-up. I use it as my primary also, sometimes. It is plenty of light for caving. My main light is a homemade Tri-lux head lamp. You don't really need 200+ lms in a cave, but we are all light freaks here, right?

Re: The Seven Sisters
You would have to use the sun as a beamshot comparison. The light may even get that hot. Don't get me wrong, I want(need) one.

Thanks for the update George. I agree with everyone else.
Fatflex will be the perfect board for the DIY caver. I even found waterproof momentary switches for it.

If you are going to make it your self, try making it like nightriders. Only i would use the fatman or nFlex boards from taskled.com. you can find nice lightweight Li-on battery packs from batteryspace.com. Those should help with your light output to weight issue.

I've got 1 and I really dont like all the light output that you loose. I would do like you said, and try different color combinations until you find a warmer color. Otherwise maybe try using 4 per light. That may may give some good light. The warm whites are cheap.

How many amps will this draw form the power source? 4 Lux III's, 2 in series per n-flex, 2 n-flex's. I'm thinking 2 amps, but I dont know any of the math.
I'm going to use li-ion's that shut down at 4 amps for protection.
Yes the D2Dim looks pretty cool... I'll give one of those a try in a future project! However, TaskLed's web site doesn't seem to have a convenient way to order things...
Just shoot George an E-mail and a PayPal.

p.s. nice headlamps by the way.
