    I like the significant other idea, but she might get suspicious when I suddenly set up the tripod and telescope alongside the camera. It might suddenly look as if the romantic part was simply an excuse to get to a good viewing location.

    Yep, polariser. I used a Panasonic FZ-30 for the pic, so although it's not a DSLR, it does have IS. I'm hoping to get a DSLR soon (one of the prizes in the comp is the new Canon EOS 400D, which would be nice). The FZ-30 is a nice camera and has got me some fine pics, but it really suffers...

    Actually, it's nm, not um. There's a factor of 1000 lol. Sorry, I couldn't resist. But I know how easy it is to get that "n" upside down. :D
