Cree BA19 bulbs flickering, varying output

On the older Cree A19 bulbs. I baked the bulb for 20 minutes at 200F. Then using heavy gloves poped the shell off. The later Cree bulbs seem to have a different glue holding the shell on and baking didn't work. One thing to be careful of. If the LED board assembly is not making good connection...

Cree BA19 bulbs flickering, varying output

I had some of the A19 60W Cree bulbs start to flicker and then die. I took the shell off of a few of them. In mine the spring clips between the connection pads on the driver board and the connection pads on the LED assembly. Started to make poor connection and the pads had arc marks on the pads...

I'll stick with my ebay crap.

I have had Cree LED bulb fail. Shells fall off or crack. Start flickering and die. Took a few apart. Their connections between the driver PCB and LED PCB is a set of spring clips. Contacting the tined contact pads. Mine showed arching between the pads and the spring clips. I used some Deoxit to...

Is broken 120v LED bulb safe to use?

I measured the voltage in an original Cree 60 watt LED bulb, where the shell fell off. 218 volts DC. Was even higher on one where the LEDs had a poor solder joint and where not on when tested.

Is broken 120v LED bulb safe to use?

I would call it unsafe. Putting fingers in it. Could result in a very nasty shock or worse.

    Sunbeam A19 LED Multipack Teardown

Thank you for the teardown. Interesting LED PCB. Looks like they bypassed three LED positions by bridging the pads.

Where any of your appliances damaged? Some motors don't like starting and running on such a low voltage.

    GE BrightStik led

Thank you for the teardown information. I had taken the top off of one of mine and did find the small socket on the LED assembly different. I measured 44.8 VDC on the small socket when it was running. With no AC ripple and a True RMS Meter. A photocell and scope also did not show any AC ripple.

I got a four pack of the 100 watt version. By a Home Depot web order before they where in the local stores. Shipped directly from a Philips warehouse. I have one in use now. In a stairway to my cellar. I am very satisfied with it in the short time it has been in use.

    GE BrightStik led

I recently bought a three pack but don't have as much equipment like ElectronUpdate has to do a thorough review. The color temperature is 2850K. 760 lumens. I use a old solar cell from a pathway light and scope to look flicker. I did not see any with the GE Bright Stik. That I do see with many...
