Your Ultimate (Realistic) Light -- What do you wish was being produced but isn't?

What I wish I could find in a light is one with a forward clickie tailcap, and twist the head to adjust the brightness. Ideally, the lowest level would be around .5 lumens, and high should be at least 100 lumens. That way, when you turn it on, it will be at the same brightness level that you...

8" flashlight in the $50 range?

Well, it is longer than 8 inches, but the Lowes Taskforce 2C flashlight with the Cree emitter is a nice light for general usage. It is very bright, and very reasonably priced.

New User in need of a flashlight...

In my T10, I do not use rechargeables. I really don't have an accurate method of measuring the brightness other than side by side comparisons. I do know that my Olight T10 is brighter than my LOD-CE using a 1440 cell, but not by much. In actuality, I do not use the highest setting most of the...

New User in need of a flashlight...

I think you might like the Olight T10 or T15 lights. It is a multi mode light that I really like. You can set it to come on at your favorite light setting, and is very sturdily made. Battery Junction has them on sale right now. I like the Q5 versions due to the extra brightness, but even the...

    LED Worklight?

The CentraLED worklight is great! It produces a very even wall of light! Just make sure to be careful when attaching the light to a metal surface - those magnets are VERY strong!

Streamlight Polypro 4AA Lux vs. 7 LED, what gives?

I have the Streamlight Propoly 4AA Luxeon and 7LED, as well as the Propoly 3C Luxeon and 10LED. All are excellent lights. The 7LED is not nearly as bright as the 4AA Luxeon. Even the 10 LED version is not as bright as the 4AA Luxeon. The Luxeon versions have pretty good throw, with a nice spill...

    Being a good neighbor

For that price, I would go with the Ray o Vac Sportsman Extreme 4W 3C light. It does put out quite a bit of light for the price, and C cells are usually very easy to find. As mentioned before, it doesn't have a lot of spill, but it does have a fair amount of throw. Because it does use C cells...

How many flashlights to you "really" have with you when you leave the house?

Re: How many flashlights to you "really" have with you when you leave the house? I usually carry my Fenix LOD CE on my keys, and another loaner light in my pants pocket. In my coat pocket, I usually also have my Olight T15. In my car, I have several lights. Normally, I will have my CentraLED...

Presenter's Dilemma: No Light on the Podium, Dark Room, Can't See Notes

A light that may work for you is a pelican VB3. It is a light meant to clip into a shirt pocket and shine onto maps or paperwork in front of you. While it does not use AA batteries, each set of batteries will provide quite a few hours of light.

Need a name for your flashlight company?

Actually, I sometimes wonder why they don't use prefixes like Brilliant, Radiant, or Dazzle. It seems that those would be appropriate ways to describe a light.

Cheap red light to play with?

For a red light to preserve night vision, I like the Rigel Skylight Mini. It has a brightness control so you can dial up whatever brightness you need. It is used by quite a few astronomers, where preserving night vision is important.

First, get it into the strobe mode. Press and hold the button. It will first change the pace of the strobe. Continue to hold the button, and it will go into the first hidden mode. Press and hold the button and soon the light will change into the second hidden mode. Again for the third. If you...

My Toddler Wants a Light...Suggestions Needed

I am glad that your daughter likes the light! :) I know that my neighbor's kid really likes the color wash effect and will fall asleep watching that. When Christmas comes around, you might show her how to do the red green flashing Christmas mode. Or you can show the red white blue flashing mode...
