Has anyone seen the latest innovation in headlight adaptive lighting that Bmw is developing?
I thought it was remarkable how they control with such precision the lighting of the road so effectively with a camera system and LEDS.

wow thanks that makes perfect sense, The lens was described as a 28mm convex but its good to know those other versions exist. I have also looked into the aspherical lens by anhorton and most people have gotten nice results. I will post pics later this week. Thanks for the help man.
Yesterday I received my first Cree xml I have mounted it on a heatsink and used a 1" copper coupling and a 28mm glass convex lens to explore its optic capabilities. I have observed the the xml is very difficult to focus to create a small narrow sharp projection of the dye. Basically I manuall...
Well stated but we can always learn how its done and give it a shot, def not something i will take out the road but it will be a killer research and development project that an educational facility or research lighting lab might enjoy reviewing .
so far i discovered you need a narrow cone reflector 8 degrees or so, a tight emmiter the smaller the better, multiple emitters to reach the desired lumen output yet project the light a far distance down the circuit race course. potential problems are that your reflectors will not cut off the...
I tried it out at a local park and it puts down good light with no lens...yesterday i received the housing and projector lens and it greatly increased the concentration of light but doesnt really beam the light infront of the bike very far. Its great in dark trails at night looks very clear and...

If you need more help just let me know thats an easy task
I am going to post a pic of the 30w LED chip that I installed on my 18 speed pedal asssist motor bike so you see how nice it lights up. It was pretty simple build a SMD 30w Chip and DC -DC Step up and a 11.1v lipo battery. The lens hasnt arrived but its 2500 lumens for under 40 dollars.[/IMG]
