    Maglite updated their site

They're website is down as I type this. They've had glitches in the past week or so like almost all of their compact lights not being listed. Guessing the AA and AAA lights really were still available and they did show up again. BTW the Safety Packs MiniMag AA's (regular AA LED MiniMag plus...

Just how many "Is she single?" inquiries did you expect to get by posting that?

Things I've learned the hard way . . .(Part 2)

"When I was 17 I was embarrassed by how little my parents knew but very impressed with my vast knowledge. 10 or 12 short years later I was shocked to see how much I'd forgotten but amazed at how much my parents had apparently learned."

Which aa mini maglite do I have?

BTW Staples near me (Rochester NY) has the MiniMag Survival Pack (the 97 lm 4 mode MiniMag LED, traffic cone, mounting brackets + screws, and 2 AA's) at a discontinued price of about $19. They also had MiniMag Pro's and AAA MiniMags at disc'd prices. Since the traffic cone lists for $8 and the...

    Tactical Flashlight ring

Late to the show but if you're looking for help with just holding onto your light and not a dedicated combat grip I use friction tape (Google it - most hardware or big box stores should have it) and/or o-rings (try two o-rings next to each other). Cheap, effective, easy to replace. It works very...

    Maglite ML150LR Closer To Release

In the rules it says it may take up to 5 days to notify the winner. There's also a mailing address to send a request for the winners name. And if you do win you have to reply within a few days with the address to which you'd want them ship it. So, still waiting... It would be nice though, right?

    Streamlight ClipMate USB

Looks like the one I bought a year or two ago. Tip - put a little bit of electrical tape around the head of it. The head came apart in my coat pocket shortly after I got it. Could have been a disaster but I found the parts, put it together, and the tape has held it nicely. Still works just fine.

    Traffic wands/cones on Maglite website

If you're looking for a cone for your Mag, they have them not just for D cell sized lights but after a few years of not having them now again for mini mags (which btw will also fit the XL series). Available in orange, yellow, and white. But wait! There's more - they now also have 'em for the...

Need a light for older person! not sure if this has been asked before...

Use the K.I.S.S. method (Keep It Super Simple). Not really pushing Maglites but this is one use where they fit perfectly and I'd suggest a model or two. First suggestion would be a plain old Minimag LED but with lithium AA's. Cheap, simple, tough, and readily available. 97 lumens so it's...

recommendation please: powerful light for photography light painting

If you haven't heard of it already check out The Big Shoot that the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) has been doing annually for quite awhile. They select a site to photograph at night, gather volunteers, and for the most part without using high tech flashlights get some amazing results...

Knurling on flashlight bodies...more or less grippy?

Not satisfied with the grip on you light? Not an elegant or fancy fix but this one works - friction tape. Usually found in big box stores with the electrical tape. Adds grip tremendously. You can also use bicycle handlebar grip tape or foam grips. The best part about these solutions is that...

What jobs do people do that they need to EDC flashlights?

I've worked in libraries, done stock work, retail, etc. Having a light when you're looking for something or unloading a truck at night is one thing but most buildings I've worked in were large enough that there was no way every part of the building had windows. Some levels were underground...

    Wireless Security Camera

Check video & sample shots from the manufacturers and YT videos to see what will work best for you. I don't have a lot of experience with them, there are several brands, and everybody's needs are a bit different. My only thoughts would be are we looking for small critters, bigger ones, and 2...

    Wireless Security Camera

Got a trail cam or know someone who hunts and who'd let you borrow theirs? They're made for it and if you're only going to need one for a few days, why buy one? Not WiFi but a lot do video as well as still and use an SD card. Google it to see if one would work.
