    Maratac AAA led swap?

Cheers! :-) i'm leaning towards sending the light to Vinh for a complete mod (driver pill, heat sink and led) to be able to also use 10440, only problem is that he's in the US and i'm in EU so passing twice through customs may prove more expensive than the mod it self

Hi, does anyone know if it's true that Neil is shipping to Europe through EU warehouse? (so there are no customs fees?)

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

all right, so if you have, for example, a 5A+FET driver then above 5A draw you are wasting energy by "regulating" current through impedance, i.e. turning the excess of the power your light needs to heat. so i have to know the amperage of my chosen leds at various levels to ask for the...

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

All right, so FET+1 is fully regulated (and hence power efficient) up to 1Amp current draw and from there on it's FET on direct drive. But i believe what anyone would want is a fully regulated output up to the top of the ramp and a direct drive only on turbo, so why having drivers that stop...

    Maratac AAA led swap?

Thanks Noctiluco, i can do that, but isn't there a danger of the new led not having the same forward voltage as the old one and overdrive/burn it? I'd expect the driver to be specific for the led inside.

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

purduephotog: So you do believe that the Ti-copper will be stepping down earlier and it will sustain less lumens in extended use due to the less copper mass compared with the all copper one, right? I'm afraid that this is true but i was wondering if someone had actually the chance to try it.

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

Ugly? man!! Patina copper IS my favorite material/color :) But do you know for a fact that the copper head isn't enough to keep the light (as) cool? For the copper head to feel hotter is good as it's a warning for me to step down before i fry my leds. Otherwise i will go for the full copper...

    Maratac AAA led swap?

Hi all! I have an old (first gen I think) Maratac AAA copper which I absolutely love but the tint of it's small led is blueish and it was always annoying me though I learned to ignore it. I was wondering, is there a way to change it to something like a warm/neutral Nichia without reducing the...

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

Thanks Snowngo, I've read about the LH351D but unfortunately they are not currently offered as an option, the E21As indeed look amazing but the output is so much lower and combined with a relatively floody setup i'm afraid they will look weaker than my old Zebra SC600w.

    Emisar D4V2 & Noctigon KR4 w/ XP-L HI 2850K info needed

Hi all! After a loong time of various troubles that kept me away, i'm on for a new light again. I'm looking at one of the Emisar D4V2 and Noctigon KR4 as a medium floody EDC for short/medium distance illumination but i'm baffled with some of the choices and I can't find enough info, so if...

    Maratac aa copper rev 6

I'm considering this light some time now but i'm just not sure since i can't find any info on the Cree XP-G3 tint and beam pattern. Can you please describe these? If the light doesn't always turn on, try cleaning with alcohol or contact cleaner the edge of the body and, with a flattened ear...

Test/review of Charger Xtar VP4 Plus Dragon

Thanks Katherine, D cells charging and 5V charger not important for me, OPUS tests IR and capacity as well, so the only difference i'm not sure how important it is, is the pulse charging which i don't really know if it will cause me problems in cell life and/or smaller cells by tripping their...

Test/review of Charger Xtar VP4 Plus Dragon

A great review as always! I was wondering, i was going for the OPUS BT-C3100 v2.2 with the only thing bugging me to be the pulse charging, I find the Xstar VP4 25€ more expensive (70€ vs 45€) is it worth it over the OPUS ? Apart from the Xstar not charging in pulses i don't see any other...

    Test/Review of Charger Opus BT-C3100 V2.1

Man, i was looking to replace my old i4 charger and thought UMS4 or SC4 would be great, but after reading the reviews the time sharing and inconsistent IR readings put me off, it seems the BT-C3100 V2.2 is way better in all except of the pulse charging that worries me. I just need a fast (at...
