    Info. on old Surefire lamps

I like it. My third Surefire was a C3 Centurion. Originally with the P60 lamp then with the P90 lamp and two RCR123s. Of course, it's had a few different LEDs in it for quite a while now. It's probably my second favorite light of all time, after a Milky-modded old school HDS 42GT.

Any oldschool folk here from 10+ years ago?

Sometimes I'll go for LONG stretches without posting, but I've been here for a minute or two.

7 day rotation - updated - how many days in a row can you carry a different light?

Re: 7 day rotation Like many, I have WAY too many lights but, beyond the various 1xAAA lights on each keychain, I still regularly carry my old HDS that was modded to a TWOJ so many years back. Great light, dead reliable, well-placed modes. Definitely not 'impress your friends' bright, but...

    budget is a funny word

To me, a 'budget light' is one that isn't too pricey, that sees quite a bit of real use. A $50 or $60 light that gets regular use is more budget friendly than two or three $20 lights that usually get left at home.

    Favorite budget light 2020

They aren't my most used lights, but the Convoy S2+ and the C8 are awfully nice for the little $$$.

What size flashlight do you use most?

Each of my three keychains has a 1xAAA Fenix of some sort and over the last year, those are absolutely the lights that have seen the most actual use. I have 1x18650/2x123-sized lights on the bikes and that what I tend to prefer in my hand for 'serious' light use. Around the house, I have a 2...

Red LED 2xAAA (or something in that ballpark)

Thanks for all the suggestions. I think I've actually done all those except the Rigel route though I've looked around their site. I actually modded a number of the Garrity (I think) stainless penlights with red 5mm LEDs, and no resistor and no substantial reflector. I think I still have one...

Red LED 2xAAA (or something in that ballpark)

I have the desire to get something along the lines of a 2xAAA light with a red LED. Not really wanting a 3xAAAA light or any AAAA light. A clip would be nice, but not a requirement. Brightness isn't really an issue... this is for astronomy use... reading charts at night. Something like the...

What do you have on your keyring 1xAAA or 1xAA light ?

Re: What do you have on your keychain 1xAAA or 1xAA light ? R2 LD01 on main keyring, R5 LD01 SS on my backup keyring, L0P SE on my cabin keyring. I have an E01 around here somewhere and I'd like to get a natural E05 if they ever made them. Anyone know?

4D Maglite and four LED upgrade options for 2011...opinions wanted!

Yeah, for general use, I'd go for #4. In fact, I have one and two friends each have two of them at my suggestion. For home defense, I'd want something brighter and smaller... something 2xCR123 sized.

Streamlight PT2L only runs with streamlight brand batt.

Yeah, if Streamlight and Duracell batteries work just fine in the light and brand new Surefire batteries don't, I'd say there's a 99% chance that your particular Surefire cells are a teeny, tiny bit shorter than your particular Streamlight/Duracells. If you PM me your address (and you are in...

What LED flashlight is sitting on your nightstand?

Re: What light do you keep on your nightstand? Solarforce L2T with a single mode XML drop in and an AW IMR 18650 next to the CZ PCR. When time allows, I'll switch some modules around and use the Surefire C2 with the same single mode module but right now the C2 has a 3 mode module.

Why are we paying so much for SureFire flashlights?

I have cheap lights as well... I have about 10 Solarforces and maybe 4 Ultrafires. But I have a little more confidence in my Surefire C2. Granted, the Solarforces have never failed me, including two that have seen a LOT of use, but if I could only take one light, and I was going to be gone for...
