I'm referencing the stated runtimes on the Olight website, I'm assuming they used the included batteries for each since they state the turbo output which can't be attained with ordinary CR123.
S1R Turbo S:
0.5 lm - 15 days
12 lm - 33 hours
60 lm -4.5 hours
300 lm - 1 hour
600 (300) lm - 55 min...
Just got mine, initial impressions jive with what we've been told so far.. a bit tighter spot than the original light, and I find the switch a tad less intuitive to hit because it's already small, and down a bit "deeper" than the previous version so you've got to really push into it. The...
wondering why the common brightened level ringtones are so different, e.g., moonlight at 8 days now from 15 previously, etc. Have they traded battery efficiency for some other benefit?
Great review, thanks!
Wish they would have retained the 300 lm level... or at least something between 60 and 600! Think they will do a firmware update like last time? I'm tempted to wait and see if they do. I wonder how common that practice is...
Also a bit bummed about the lower runtimes at...
Any word on if the S1R is updatable to the turbo S version? An Olight rep told me it was a software update, but I haven't been able to get hold of anyone since to get this done.
Just picked one of these up. Using AA battery, operation is smooth, but buggy - flickering, incorrect mode switching, etc. Using an Olight 14500 the modes seem to switch appropriately, but I find it is very tight and cannot be used with one hand. Anyone else experience this, or have a solution...
Mine just did likewise with the included battery. Never had an issue, treated it like a baby for the few days I've had it..tailcap removal fixed it, but I wonder how often this is going to happen? :-/
Sorry for second post, does Olight typically update UI on lights? How do they designate the 'updated' version, if I wanted to ensure to buy that one? Exciting light, more so with the potential update! Thanks again for the great job candle lamp!!
Thank you for the info and fantastic review of the S1R! That's what I decided on and am expecting delivery in a couple of days.. although the new UI sounds more like what I was hoping for, really like the sound of a 600 lumen turbo added.
I always carry a small light, for me the smaller the better. General purpose: walking at night, checking the yard, and annually to hunting camp. Most lights that are big "around the house" get pretty small in the deep dark woods. I like to have a light that I'm familiar with and can carry in any...
Question about the claim that the light gradually increases/decreases in brightness when you turn it on or off. Is this distracting, how long is the transition? Can the feature be turned off?
