    Surefire batteries also have built in heat and fault protection according to their website so as long as you use their batteries, it seems highly unlikely you will have any issues with the batteries. The batteries have a warning not to heat above 212F, which I seriously doubt it ever gets close...

    Since you indicated you work in a dense urban area, I would go with the newer Surefire Fury with Intellibeam, due to beam pattern, lumen and candela). It also comes with a 18650 battery - I do recommend sticking with Surefire's 18650 as they are designed for higher current delivery then some...

    maglite tactical website

    I agree on the Maglite charging cradles - very easy to use without worrying about alignment of the light. That is the main issue I have with the Streamlight cradles - you have to align the contacts.

    The Stingers use a polycarbonate, while the Strions use glass. The stinger uses a Ni-MH battery while the Strion uses Li-Ion, both are 2600mAh.
