Sofirn C01 Potted AAA w High CRI

I hardly ever visit CPF (sorry about that, I can't handle 2 forums) but enjoyed this thread about the C01.:) It is clear that the Yuji 5mm led has more of a reputation over here than on the other side. I'm truly sorry that my (8 yr old) son has taught your daughter how to behave violently...

    Manker E14 (4*Cree XP-G2/ Nichia 219B) is releasing

LOL, on the other forum the exact same light is announced under the Astrolux brand name :-) I like it a lot!

    LED identification

The last led shows four bond wires which Cree never used in XP-package (the XR-E still had 4 bond wires), and for that matter, Cree AFAIK did not make any UV-leds since the XR-E, and this XP-size 4 bond wire one will be a chinese one.

    Cree xp-l without phosphor

That is exactly how white leds work: a royal blue led with a layer on top that converts the blue into a broad spectrum of other wavelengths to create white. (generally called phosfor layer while it has not much to do with either phosfor or phosforescence; it is fluorescence). As it is not UV...

94 CRI (minimum) in a standard 5mm DIP LED form!!

A while ago I bought a bag full of their 3200K version 5mm leds, and they really have a lovely tint and a nice even beam profile, I'm using them everywhere I can. I did notice in a 6x 5mm-led fixture that although the tint is always good (I can't really measure it but I believe their CRI...

I need your help CPF! Love to get your feedback on my Titanium Carbon Fiber Light

Re: I need your help CPF! Love to get your feedback on my Titanium Carbon Fiber ... Hi Glenn, I must correct you here, you were not attacked over at BLF, and no one was being impolite. People were giving their opinion on the light in a decent enough way, those opinions were just not what you...

    Build Log: The 1.5V Project

This is a great project, I just read this thread for the first time. Thanks for doing this, and for the extremely good and enjoyable documentation :)

    Nichia 219C

DBcustom from the blf forum spoke to a Nichia representative recently, and got the information that (despite that it is listed on the Nichia website as being under developement) Nichia is not working on the 90+ CRI version of the Nichia 219C. :-(

    Microscope light

Hmm, if the starting voltage is 6V and your led around 3V, and you want some sort of decent output from the led, that resistor value will be low enough that the voltage dimming will have to be in an impractical narrow voltage range.

    Cree XPG2 die structure change

I had a look at the new XP-E2 'Torch' led this weekend and there it is the other way around: the phosfor material in the Torch looks very much like the 'old' XP-G2, and the XP-E2 that compared it with looks more like the 'new' XP-G2. XP-E2 XP-E2 Torch

    Nichia NVSL219BT-SW45 ?

Last week I tested the improved Osram Oslon Square 4000K 92CRI, and for comparison I tested the Nichia 219B 4500K 92CRI again. The Nichia maxed out at 660 led-lumen at 3.8A current. This time I pushed the 219B further, to 6A, it survived and after that the performance was not affected at all...

    Microscope light

On-topic: That will be little project! It looks like a narrow angle led (Oslon SSL80?) will be better, in that lamp house it seems like most of the halogen light is just wasted. Normal white leds hardly emit any UV light, so that is of no concern. Voltage control will not be able to dim your...

    Cree XPG2 die structure change

Interesting, I had not noticed it yet. Does this coincide with that people found that the newer XP-G2's and XM-L2's have higher forward voltages, higher efficiencies and (sadly) lower currents at which they say *poof* ?

    RGBW XML Driver mod.

Tonight I did your mod and it worked like a charm. I have the XM-L colour in a modified cheap small 14500 battery zoomie: I had an identical RGBW-driver leftover that I had killed someway and I scavenged the 911 Ohm resistor from that one and piggybacked it on top of the other resistor...

    RGBW XML Driver mod.

I replied before, but my post appears removed (why?). Thanks again for sharing the mod, I will do this to my intl-outdoor driver as well :-)
