Mine are what most might consider “budget” lights, but they have both have worked great for me and have become my favorites.
1) Thrunite TN4A - Bought Jan 2016 and used a lot (mostly for taking the dog out at night before bed).
2) Thrunite T10 II - Bought Feb 2019, and has been my edc...
To be honest, I don’t know what I was thinking. It’s a very nice ruler and I like it, but it’s too heavy. It’s already been switched out for a nice fresnel lens magnifier/ruler that clips into the back of my notebook and goes unnoticed until needed.

I do agree with a number of other comments in this thread. Budget is a word that combines price and utility, and so the dollar amount can vary depending on a combination of factors, not price alone.
My budget flashlight experience began in 2009 with Fenix. I would consider Fenix a budget...
I thought I had enough until this past week when I ordered three Thrunite 2A V3 flashlights. I convinced myself that I should have a nightstand light with a momentary on/off capability, and figured that the two AA flashlight was a good balance of capability and economy between my 4AA TN4A’...
Without going into all of the nuances and definitions of the word, I’ll bring it down into the dollars and cents of it for me when it comes to actually opening my pocketbook...a budget flashlight to me will range up to around $30.

Switched to a Thrunite Archer 2A V3 because I wanted a tail cap momentary on/off function for bumps in the night. The tail cap switch is also quicker and easier to find and operate in the middle of the night. Plenty of versatility with light levels from .2 to 500 lumens and it has a strobe...
