In the early 90s I had some blue Standard and General Purpose versions of them. Later, Standard changed to Plus and red and silver ones were introduced, called Special and Ultra. The silver ones were zinc chloride chemistry.
Not to forget my old racing batteries... just found them back. Dont know what to do with them, maybe keep for the memories.
They seem to be in good condition
My first gen Eneloops from 2009 still have ~1750mAh, but a slightly higher internal resistance. But still good for the digital camera.
My 2nd gen Eneloops from 2010 are like new.
5 Years ago I put 4 Eneloops 2nd gen in a handheld vacuum cleaner instead of Sub C NiMh.
They are drained with 5A...
Just bought a pack of the 2400mAh glitter LSD AAs, too.
Manufactured 05/2017
Capacity testing (mAh)
Out of the box: 1980 1980 2010 1990
After charging: 2290 2310 2290 2300
...as good as the non glitter version.
Another good example for the longevity of NiCd batteries are the Sanyo KR-5000DEL D size rechargeables with 5000mAh
Around ~25 years old, used very often and not always treated very well... still getting 4500mAh out of them at 5A.

The only batteries I have that last longer than Eneloops are NiCd ones like 20 year old Sanyos and Panasonics. But...
Yesterday I received 4x 2400mAh Tronic AA LSD cells and 8x 2500mAh of the non LSD version. They all were manufactured in 04/2017.
The AAA cells I will get later.
Measurings were done with the IVT AV4 charger.
For comparison: it measures the newest AA Eneloops with 1850-1880mAh
AA LSD 2400...
Thanks
Yes, 2010 is the manufacturing date. This would fit to the expiration date of 2025.
Bought them at eBay Austria.
So it seems they are original and were only available outside the USA for a short time.
The funny thing is, that they accept recharging. I charged both empty cells with 100mA...
Hi,
bought these at eBay some time ago.
Does anyone know if these are real Duracells? I can't find any information on the Duracell homepage.
They all (got 12 of them) measure 1.86V and perform quite well.2787mAh at 1A / 2878mAh at 0.5A
