Laser Pointer with a Square/Flat Body

Not sure this helps, but there have been complaints elsewhere in this forum that the Sanwu 3000 pointer generates a flat sided spot, about 2" max width at 10 feet.

    Laser pointer for daily use

Not a cat owner, so cannot opine on how long a laser will entertain your cat, but am a very happy customer of Sanwu's green laser pointer. Note that it requires 2 18650 rechargeable batteries, so those and the needed charger will probably at least triple your initial $15 outlay for the pointer...

    Sanwu '3000mw'

Welcome to the world of laser ratings. They are marketing numbers at best. I doubt that any of the budget laser pointers produce anywhere near their rated level, more likely 10-20% if that. Keep in mind that the US regulators set much more stringent limits on laser power, so what you see on...

    One inch sensor cameras

I've been of two minds about my Sony RX100 VI, a 1" sensor pocket zoom. I love the lens, it delivers sharp images pretty much from across the board, from 24mm equivalent to 200mm. I hate the menus, they stand in the way of using the camera fully. So badly arranged and documented that 99% of the...

How should I choose a burning laser?

You are of course totally correct and it was stupid of me to make that comment. Lasers are brutally dangerous and nobody should try to work with them unless properly equipped with the right goggles appropriate for the laser involved. Thank you for setting this straight and correcting me.

How should I choose a burning laser?

Just their basic green laser pointer, it is plenty imho. https://www.sanwulasers.com/product/304

    High CRI 4,000K - 1 x CR123A battery - "Flood" headlamp

For most casual users, I think lithium batteries are absolutely the way to go. People generally ignore their gear until they need it. With alkalines, that usually means a disappointment. Alkalines invariably leak and damage the gear. Lithium batteries don't leak and hold their charge well...

What is your oldest working Olight?

The S1 Mini, although powerful, is fat for a keychain light. I've been very pleased with the I1R, also well built, albeit only a fraction as bright. It is a good alternative, noticeably cheaper and more compact.

    Olight I1R EOS

Thank you for the heads up. Unfortunately I missed that zero cost I3E while buying the I1R at $13.59. As I'd previously paid Amazon $19.99 for another I1R, I was happy and did not even see the extra freebie Olight offered.

    Olight I1R EOS

This is an excellent little light, ideal for EDC on a keychain. Because it has a built in rechargeable battery, it avoids the extra length imposed by the AAA format. At the price of $13.59, it is a steal imho. Plus they make great gifts, for kids of all ages. Do note that I've not had this...

    Scientific information requested

In general, the laser beam strength is mostly impacted by beam broadening, as the collimation is limited by manufacturing economics as well as diffraction effects. The beam scatter from airborne dust and water vapor is much less significant except in rare instances (fog) and plasma heating is...

Sick Of Cheapy eBay AAA Lasers That Don't Work

Fwiw, the Sanwu laser pointers are $12 on their web site. They are shipped direct from China. They need an 18650 battery, which will set you back another $40 by the time you get a decent charger. It is absurdly too powerful, the actual output was measured at 85 milliwatts by another forum...

    150mW+ green and blue lasers

I'd think you would be very happy with a Sanwu green laser pointer https://www.sanwulasers.org/product/304green. It claims 1000 mW, actual tests suggest about 80, so YMMV. Cost under $20, before shipping, ridiculously powerful imho, listed at 1000 milliwatt on my specimen. Comes with a screw...

A good pocket sized flashlight for all-day use

Think this is it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N3RUPHJ/?tag=cpf0b6-20 There may be better prices direct from the manufacturer, but it seem a reasonable value. I still rely on my old Nu Flare Rebel 90, also CR123 powered, useful because it has adequate light and a decent zoom lens. Not sold...
