Flashlight for Defense?
I would recommend that you purchase a Surefire 12ZM or 12PM off ebay or maybe Logger(?)Tactical.Probably cost a couple hundred dollars.Lightweight,500 lumens,collectable and very cool.It delivers a searing blast of concentrated light that will deter any living creature.Try it,you will like it.- fuego

How rare is a Surefire 12ZM?
I hope someone knows how many were made before being discontinued.I bought mine in 1999 and have never regretted it.Awesome output in a small package.The SRTH and N62 only add to the experience.It's the only flashlight I consider "a weapon" in it's own right.- fuego

Small portable radios?
I'm happy with the Grundig Traveller II.I got it on ebay for $26.AM,FM,SW.Uses AA(4)and is approx 5x3.5x1.Definitely not a POS. -

Airport Confiscation of Light?
I've had pocket knives,lighters,scissors confiscated but never had any problems with my SF 12ZM.I flew between the US and europe and South America.Also maybe 20+ domestic and international flights within Colombia and Ecuador. Surefire: expensive?
