Huh? What in the world is that supposed to mean? I see no claims above that your "reviews are based only on opinions". Nor does anyone have a monopoly on reviews.
Note that the text you quoted is from an eBay description of the module, i.e. it is written by the board designer. If you are...
But no one recommend the eBay seller as a source of "technical knowledge". Many trustworthy sellers have very limited technical knowledge, e.g. this is true of most all sellers of Li-ion cells, and most all sellers (and many manufacturers) of Li-ion chargers.
Yes, but it's the same eBay account (18 years old) and same stuff, and still 100% positive feedback since he left, so I wouldn't worry about who he has running the business now.
Those eBay Brymen PP-BM10A probes with screw-on banana shrouds are sold by Frankie from 99cent-hobbies (he used to source many items from Asian markets for eevblog members). They seem to be well-received there, e,g, see here.
You can find more general programmable charger boards that go down to 50-60mA, e.g. below is one from eBay that is $7.50 shipped and includes much more than plain charger functionality (e.g. boost, ups, solar charging, etc). The device is designed by another hobbyist (in Greece) with the needs...
That settles it - the problem is the "TL175" probes. In this eevblog thread cyr reports that his TL175 measure 31.5 mOhm/lead, so at 7x that your probe(s) have issues. If they are genuine, then possibly one lead is bad (narrow down the culprit by testing with one TL175 and one TL171). Also try...
I've used it often and I don't recall ever seeing results off by 10x or more. On quality DMM's they are usually very close. Hopefully dragosios will do further tests to narrow down the culprit.
So that is the measurement you obtain with the probe tips shorted together? Are the tips clean?
If your browse web comments you will find that there are few versions with the same model number, and it is speculated that the lower quality versions may have been intended only for the Chinese...
Nowadays storage voltage is not necessarily the same as shipping voltage. Some manufacturers and distributors seem to be shipping at lower voltages recently due to shipping regulations.
eBay is no different from any other large marketplace - seller quality spans a large spectrum. Generally you...
But your "estimates" are in fact guesses, unless you have a PhD in battery electrochemistry and/or you can cite reputable scientific studies that support your claims. The internet is littered with much false information about battery technology, including many false and misleading guesses...
That analogy by size doesn't work, e.g. you can find various research papers online showing that Li-ion cells produce a large amount of gas and tremendous pressure when they vent.
Noteworthy, from ChibiM's ENELOOP technican interview
7. “Don’t use in airtight devices” some manuals say, what is the worst that ever happened that you know of?
Answered by Belgium employee:If they are severely discharged they will vent a bit of gas due to the chemical reaction, and in case...
Based on web searches (e.g. Amazon reviews) there seems to be many fakes, so double check. The resistance you observed (0.6 Ω) is so inordinately high that I can't believe any reputable manufacturer would sell them.
Of course, but why do you believe that affects "current measurements"? (in...
