Free bodies - EagleTac M2XC4 and LumaPower MRV

Electronics are nonfunctioning. SF Bay Area local pickup preferred. Hopefully someone can mod the bodies into something cool!

CNN Hero: MwangaBora Solar Powered Lanterns

'Saving lives' with solar-powered lights Nairobi, Kenya (CNN) -- The villagers' faces light up as Evans Wadongo arrives. Men, women and children sing and gather around as he shows how his invention -- a solar-powered LED lantern -- will soon light up their homes...

    EagleTac M2SC4...

Anybody have beamshots? I just got my M2XC4 neutral and it's great, but could use a smoother hotspot.

Should I still get Nitecore D10?

The piston drive is better than the twisty switch on my last keychain light which stopped working...

The New Pilot Whale, LED Hand Cannons and The Birth of a Flashaholic

Great story. Makes me want to buy an MC-E or P7 light now.

    Your Most Versatile Light

I liked my LF2XT until it died. Khoo suggested it was the switch mechanism getting clogged with dust. What's the use of an EDC if it's not reliable? So I bought a Nitecore D10 GDP instead - great light. Piston drive should serve me better, and the CRI and infinite levels are nice.

    New Wolf-eyes flashlight!

Sounds good. I'm waiting for a nice high-CRI multi-LED light with multiple levels that doesn't use visibly-flickering PWM (high-freq is fine). The Storm series of Wolf-Eyes didn't quite meet these criteria - there were reports of visible PWM flickering, and they used standard cool white Crees...

Tiablo ACE-G & A10-G Reviews: Massive detailed comparison thread!

Thanks for the review! Great job - very comprehensive. I'm impressed that the throw of the first light approaches that of the A9 with aspheric.

How to make a floodier beam Nitecore D10 Q5

Easy - sell it and get the GDP version.

I'm bored! My D10 works too well and I need an excuse to buy new lights!

That's what I was thinking. A large piece of the D10's appeal is its use of standard AA's. I would hate worrying about wasting CR123as, or worrying about a lithium-ion exploding in my pocket near my gonads. And in terms of floodiness, the D10 GDP option has such a nice beam, and has nice CRI...

I only need these 2 lights

Actually, I've hung out with Modamag and the crew, handled a diamond-plated McGizmo, played with Modamag's titanium Draco and Drake... They're neat, but not that much neater than my D10 GDP, with some significant downsides in addition to their price.

I only need these 2 lights

Hmm... But that's only good for 700-900 lumens. I figure I need something in the 1300 lumen range to be significantly brighter than my D10 on high. Brightness perception is logarithmic so you need 10x the lumens to achieve double the perceived brightness. Problem is, 10x the D10...

I only need these 2 lights

Funny, some people don't read. I do have a headlamp - a modified Princeton Tec EOS with a Q5 Cree and Khatod reflector. I found my D10 GDP in a headband to be better than it. If that doesn't count to qualify my "hobby credentials". I also built a Tri-Luxeon Maglite. Fatboy driver...

I only need these 2 lights

The practical EDC - Nitecore D10 GDP - Replaced my Lightflux LF2 after the switch died - Piston drive has to be more reliable than a twisty switch - 2 lumens low maintains night vision - infinite levels of adjustable brightness provides the right level for any situation - 130 lumen high is...

Cool pic - guess the light!

Maxtrixshaman - actually your first guess was correct - it's a Golden Dragon. I figured the shifting tint with the golden corona might be identifying.
