The "original" Olight M20 was one of the contenders on my original short list — as a first-time LED flashlight buyer.
If the M20S had been available "way back" when, then it probably would've been my torch of choice. It now has an OTF rating of 250 lumens from a 320 lumen emitter rating.
As...
Interesting that nobody has commented on how many times the cop fired at the fleeing vehicle! Did he conflate himself with Steven Seagal?
That has to constitute excessive/dangerous use of a firearm in a public place surely? That sort of irresponsible behaviour from a LEO would never be...
iTP Polestar A6... Replaced under warranty.
Got my replacement A6 from the retailer today (48 hours from return to him, and return back to me... pretty good CS... thanks Jason, JPT Australia).
Switch works perfectly, and also confirms that the switch on the first A6 wasn't working properly...
Thank you both for the links and the "recipe".
:thanks:
Now to decide whether or not I'm game to attack my Arlec! At the very least, I'll open it up and have a poke around in its innards.
—Cheers, Jack. :)
Slightly OT here; sorry...
Can someone point me in the direction of a discussion/site/thread explaining (for a noob like me!) about the chemistry of an emitter that describes how and why LED tints vary, why their tints are apparently (within reason) random and unpredictable, and why they can't...
I've got one of these Arlec RT3500s at the moment.
I'm a total noob at this game, so could you kindly detail (briefly) how you mod this spotty, and with what sort of parts and their rough AUD pricing. I'm assuming it uses the stock battery, but I'm unclear as to the HID/ballast you mention...
Nice light (is "nice" a sufficient adjective here?) and a nice review.
But..... the price..... ouch.
In Australia it sells for AUD$517-99
I dunno what'd happen to certain parts of my manliness if I were to walk in the door with this baby tucked under my arm!

Thank you for that link John. :)
As a flashlight newbie, it was of great interest to me to see the side-by-side comparison with a specific reference to the terms as applied to each type of output.
Why is it that we can't then choose the colour temperature that we personally prefer when we buy...
I'm guessing this limited "release" of the beta version of the TK45 is Fenix's cheap way of testing the reactions of their potential market — before putting it into full scale production.
I'm also guessing that the TK45 in this form factor will never see the commercial light of day.
Why would...
It sounds from these comments as though iTP have found their forté with the budget-priced EOS series — which get consistently good reviews — but have lost their way with the A6 (for some unknown reason).
—Jack.
Thank you for posting these comparative beam-shots. "Real life" pics are always an excellent way to assess flashlights — particularly when, as in most cases, one can't get hold of the lights themselves.
I've taken the liberty of appending the images' EXIF data, and commented accordingly. I...
I'm surprised to see the iTP brand cropping up here repeatedly on these listings. I can understand that the iTP brand is certainly an economical choice, but its quality assurance (and/or manufacturing standards) apparently leave a lot to be desired.
And I do understand that you basically...
Cheers HKJ...
For another newbie like me, that's a great guide, particularly with the pics. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into producing it.
—Jack.
Thanks for that link. :)
I must say that the D10 looks like a nice light too, especially in its "camo" colours. Dunno about the piston interface though in the longer term.
