I bought this yesterday. Uses 2 D cells. Has a spare bulb in the base like a Mag Lite. Any knowledge about its history would be helpful. I'm aware it's intrinsically safe and was possibly government issued? It's really cool, maybe a very early example of poly flashlights.
Typically, any deal is my favorite. I have to show these off - I picked up 5 for $20. The seller must have bulked purchase old stock from Lowes. Decent light for lending to a neighbor or keeping in backpacks and drawers.
I shopped at my local Lowes in Maryland yesterday and was pleased to find Maglite XL50 200 lumen 3AAA lights heavily marked down to $8.07. The original price was $32. This model has a pocket clip and 3 interchangeable color lenses. I was so pleased with this model that I drove to another Lowes...
Home Depot currently has flashlight deals at the front of the store. They have several Defiant brand deals and Coast deals as well. Defiant has good reviews but I've never owned one. As far as Coast, HD is selling a 1600 lumen zoomy for $20 (online it says 1400 lumens, but the in store ones are...
It was shear luck. They had already been cleared from the shelf. I happened to see one in a container chock full of old stock flashlights. I asked the sporting goods associate to scan it out of curiosity - couldn't believe it! I rummaged through the whole bin and managed to score five of them...
2004 - Craftsman 3D cell, silver body with a rubber head and end cap. I think it was listed as 75 lumens. I brought it to Africa during the summer of 2011, survived a few hurricanes in New Orleans. I even dropped it in the water by accident on the Fourth of July. My Dad currently keeps it in his...
MagLite ML300L (2 D cell). Feels great holding it yet still big enough to hit someone (slimmer, lighter and shorter than the old 2D). Plenty bright at 524 lumens.
Under $15 is a bit tricky, but if that's the cut off, I would be looking for clearance or Black Friday deals.
I picked up several Energizer and Coast brand lights (50-600 lumens) on clearance at my local ACE hardware over the summer, all for less than $8. I I got 5 lights for $20. All of them...
