Ideal color temperature for indoor lighting

All LED & CFL are Philips. Also our block of units have replaced all common lights with 20 philips LED globes. Previously had Philips CFL but they were only lasting 18 months. I have a combination of 2700K & 3000K mr16. Have 2700K in lounge, bedrooms etc. 3000K in bathroom & a workroom. I...

Do you still use incandescent light bulbs?

Fridge & oven (2 globes), range hood 2 CFL. In general about 2/3 LED & 1/3 CFL. A couple of clear glass incandescent halogen globes as the light fitting & the cast light looks far better. Installed a decade ago four 4mm diameter x 30 cm CCFL under kitchen cupboards to light bench top (7 watts...

BEST MR16 Indoor replacement [Looking for: Dimmable and warmest color at low levels]

    I replaced some 50w MR16s with 10w Philips master LED 2700k (9 globes) & 3000k (4 globes) 60 degrees (1 x 35 degrees) a few years ago. The 2700k are a smidgen pinker than halogens, are nice, & work ok with a couple of remaining halogens in lounge/dining/kitchen. I have 4 3000k in a...

Does incandescent light in LED possible?

I bought one of these a year ago to test it out. It was far too expensive so I only got 1, but it's not too bad & I would be happy to get more of them if the price was more reasonable. If you have a high use lamp it's worth giving it a go. Philips AmbientLED

    Old Light Bulb Life Times

A year or so ago I replaced a still working 25watt GE globe. It's been going for over 22 years, & the globe looked a lot older than this. It's glass was larger than the current (now old) globes & the filament setup really looked pre-historic (a work of art). The globe was a fairly well used...

Issue with Jetbeam RRT-3 and lowest (1) lumen setting

    There is nothing of any use in the manual. It's an A4 page. Output & Runtime: 1 Lumen, 250 hours 150 L, 620 min 300 L, 350 min 470 L, 230 min 550 L, 180 min 850 L, 120 min 1200 L, 80 min Strobe 1200 L, 160 min "Notice: After long term working, the heat emitted by RRT3 may exceed the safe...

    Time to move to LED?

A different light fitting but never the less, I've got 8 x 2700k Philips 10w mr16 down lights. 4 are in the same room (lounge/dining & kitchen) as 4 halogens. The LEDs are a touch pinker in colour rendition, the halogens (also Philips) seem a touch green in relation but it's not a lot & both...

Re: **NEW** Jetbeam Digital Display Series Someone has used the ugly stick on that one! Next you will have to key in your pin number to turn it on!

Lighting advice for a Tiny House... LED light bar?

"corbusier cabanon" the original! Find out where you stand before you change your financial status. There are are stack of things you can't do few years. The media highlights the good life that the previously rich are still maintaining here in Australia. They don't go without, but us mere...

Lighting advice for a Tiny House... LED light bar?

Sorry to hear about your house. But you have a stack of resources to do a completely new house. If I was in that situation I would remove well & truly off site anything of any value & of use that you can use in your new house. It sounds like the building will be scrapped, no point leaving...

Sylvania Ultra LED 14w 1100 Lumen (like incan 75w)...

CFL only last about 2 years now if you are lucky, & they are not 50 cents a globe! So until LED globes have been engineered to last 5 minutes they are still worth looking at!

Sylvania Ultra LED 14w 1100 Lumen (like incan 75w)...

Thanks for the review. Hopefully when you return the globe you can incorporate this with some other shopping etc. If it’s a one off trip to take the globe back there are a few costs involved here! I bought one of the Philips 17/75 watt lights. It has a very good quality light. I only...

    9000 Lumens for 100$?

My Jetbeam RRT-3 1200 lm is hot after 20 minutes & it will eventually run to flat at 1200 lm. 9000 lm you would need oven gloves to hold it, let alone the electronics surviving!

Soon Incan lights will be GONE and everything will be LED!

I haven't used a microwave for over 5 years now. There was no real reason, it's use just gradually slowed. Still got it but it sits in it's cupboard unplugged. Now I'm not even aware that I don't actually use it.

Soon Incan lights will be GONE and everything will be LED!

I thought the same.... Oven lights in general. Takeaway hot fast food lighting/heating. Lighting in high temperature situations.
