Unwrapping 2x18650 batteries connected in series
interesting configuration. i guess the "3.7V" gives it away as being in parallel. wonder how common this is... anybody with a decent charger would probably see this as an inconvenience (as much as they're more likely to use the charger than charge this in the flashlight lol @ mike- LloydV

as per the sparky "issue", it doesn't really affect me much... the only time i saw it was when i brought it with me somewhere and someone who was keen to try it powered it up that way. the standard here is switched power outlets, so that's normally taken care of... just that itch at the base...- LloydV

as an owner of one that shipped with 1.0, this is both good and bad news, at the same time, for me. i know i want another unit. it was great to see the issues that have been fixed... but it would be quite annoying to get another one, and then for a new h/w revision to come out with a fix for...- LloydV

if the object is to "empty" a brand new eneloop before running the break-in cycle, does it matter much what the initial discharge rate is? i ask because dave (45/70) mentioned an initial discharge at 100ma. my own practice is to use it out of the pack (which is the whole point about these...- LloydV

that is fundamentally why it's very hard to rein in. there's a lot of users for data miners to track and exploit, which makes it a lucrative undertaking for them. if all (or most) of the users are averse to it, it may be different. then again, there are probably dozens of people who go online...
