What was the last LED light you purchased and why?

I've been drifting in and out of Flashaholism since 2008 :yellowlaugh: and, lately, I've seen a bit of a withdrawal. I picked up the following the last little while: - 3 x Olight Obulbs (for general area lighting which I happen to use this evening as we had a blackout) - Olight RN1500 (Needed a...

    SF 6P - multi-mode P60 drop-in & McClicky upgrade?

If you're looking at Lumens Factory D26 dropin's their site lists runtimes depending on whether you're running 16650's, 2xCR123's or 16340's - see this link as one example: https://www.lumensfactory.com/en/product_detail.php?pid=601. Performance seems to be the same in terms of lumen output and...

    CW VS NW your thoughts

Depends on the purpose: For things that go bump in the night, I have CW lights to illuminate any space. For night-time bike rides, NW is preferred for better depth-perception. And NW headlamps again for better colour rendition for hiking and general close-up stuff.

M3 led conversion with nailbender gone…

Check out Lumens Factory, they have a few options. I have an SF M3 and I picked up two things from LF: 1. Single mode LED Lamp (fits into the stock M3 bezel) https://www.lumensfactory.com/en/product_detail.php?pid=313 - This is an easy option as you just take out the incandescent bulb and...

With SolarForce out of the game, what budget tube to consider for LED drop-ins?

Sadly, as pointed out, there aren't as many inexpensive options these days for P60 dropin's. KDLITKER may be the best option, otherwise, it's the more, generic Kaidomain P60 hosts, i.e. .

    spark headlamps

Sadly, it looks like Spark Lights is now shutdown which is unfortunate. I was a fan of the of their 2xAA headlamps and picked up their SD52-NW several years ago. I still have this on my desk right now as an easily accessible headlamp for any small tasks. Its output is decent for an AA light (I...

Do "L shaped" headlamps appear imbalanced above the eye?

Glasses wearer here as well. I have multiple Zebralights and Acebeam right-angle headlamps which I have used for walking, camping, hiking at night. No perceived imbalance here either but, I tend to move the light within it's rubber / silicone holders to be as close to center-line as possible...

how many of you play with your lights still?

That is just begging for a LEP and some beamshots!

how many of you play with your lights still?

I'm a perfectionist at heart so... always searching for that perfect white wall and, while I'm at it, have to make sure my lights are all working and in tip-top shape. It's a tough daily task but... must. be. done. 😬😆

will ThruNite update the TH20? any other good similar options out there?

Thanks to the OP for highlighting this and good to know. I, too, was looking at picking up the TH20 but was stalling to see if there was to be upgraded version. It's too bad there doesn't seem to be much innovation on AA lights as focus seems to have shifted to 18650, 21700 and rechargeable...

What is a bombproof headlamp that uses AA batteries?

I've been looking at the Thrunite TH20 headlamp which is aluminum, runs on 1AA - not 2AA though - brightness levels go from 1.6lmns - 250lmns on NiMH but up to 520lmns on a Li-ion 14500. The UI is clicky and you would click-hold to ramp up via its "logarithmic scale brightness" settings. It...

Headlamp Like First Gen Surefire Minimus

The thought of having a twist knob - like a JB RRT-01 which I love - that will go from 1 lumen or less to high, with infinite variable levels and take rechargeable 18650's, would be The holy grail of headlamps! I do hope that a manufacturer will build this light. I think the closest, if you...

Acebeam H15 CREE XHP70.2 Max 2500LM Headlamp Global Testing Campaign

Yep, resurrecting this older thread... I recently picked up an H15 about 2 mths ago (2021!) after accidentally coming across a review and I really like this light. I've been a fan of ZL headlamps since their very first offerings but, when I'm rushed, I sometimes go through the ZL levels multiple...

    Help me downgrade!

olddogrib, I don't envy your position: at first, it's a Flashoholic's dream come true... but, as you put it, until they lose one of your lights. I had a friend ask to borrow my HDS EDC U60 a few years ago during a camping trip. Unbeknownst to me, he asked to borrow it so he could do a number 1...

What did you use your flashlight for today?

I used my JB RRT-01 (2019 ver) w/ 18500 extender on a brief walk last night along a rail trail near my home. Tonight, I will be using my bike lights (Exposure Strada 1200 and Lezyne Strip Alert 300 Pro) for a 2hr night ride to get some air. Very cool. That Manker E04 is such a tiny right-angle...
