Torch for a 6 year old

I need a torch for a 6 year old. What lumens would be considered safe for him. I'm not worried about shining it in his eyes but more so if he turned it on in bed and left it on, would it get really hot? I'm guessing like 100 lumens. Too dim a light and he might not use it. Probably running on aa...

    Protected cells in a zebralight

I tried a different protected cell their now and it fitted in no bother to. It was a eagtac and an xtar. The spring on the tail cap is very long, probably as much as 13mm which allows for a lot of difference.

    Protected cells in a zebralight

I only use it on low settings somewhere around 100 to 150 lumens so will it still warn me at these levels. Does it just go really dim that I'll notice.

    Protected cells in a zebralight

Anybody starting with no offence meant, really means I dont care if your offended or not. I have done a bit of googling on batteries and is why I came to my conclusion. No one is forcing you to answer my question. Fenix says Users must decide whether they prefer protected cells which are safer...

    Protected cells in a zebralight

I have a zebralight headtorch. I think a h604c. I like it but don't use it as I'm afraid of unprotected cells. Last night I put a protected cell in it and it worked. Why does zebralight recommend unprotected if protected fits but more importantly is using a protected cell unsafe in it for any...

    Simple 18650 headlight for elderly

That one sounds good. It is coming in at £90 too. How does magnetic tale charging work in a garage? Does filings damage it for example or just wipe them off before charging.

    Simple 18650 headlight for elderly

I dont think he'd like the loads of button presses to get back to the mode he wants or to turn it off but I'd say the levels ok.

    Simple 18650 headlight for elderly

I'm buying a light for an elderly man who mechanics and farms and is always carrying around a aa torch to see. I want to get him something reliable coz his other torches never last and fairly simple as he couldn't handle loads of modes etc and with a 18650 battery so it lasts a long time and it...

    18650 simple small clicky

I've owned a fenix pd35. It lasted about 4 years. I have an old olight baton which I like but the button is too small for parents. I've a lumintop aa which I really like but I want a bigger battery. Do you officially become a flashaholic when you can find something wrong with every light you...

need a replacement for Olight S2

Did you get another torch. I also have the first baton and its far better build than the newer ones. All the newer seem to having problems and switching on in pockets etc. I want something similar but with a tail clicky as my parents struggle with the small button

Compact 18650 for 70 year old

Looking a gift for a 70th birthday. Something like a olight s2r baton. The baton is a nice size and rechargeable lead as he hasn't a charger but the small button to turn it on is a bit fiddly for him as he can't find it. I need a button like a good clicky button like a fenix pd45 but its not...

    Unprotected 18650 worries

I have never used unprotected batteries before and I'm now worried I've made a mistake. My zebralight headtorch is on its way. I've a pd35 and a olight baton and use a xtar mc1 plus to charge the batteries. I've never used multimeter for them before and olight just charges on tail cap. They...

    What headlamp on protected 18650s?

I've sent him an email to find out, but every one else said you can't post them by air unless they are inside a torch.
