    Omega Watches

I have wanted one since I was in high school. My fabulous wife bought me a Seamaster Quartz for Christmas 2006. It is my second love! (I'm sure I don't have to say who my first love is!!) The automatics are wonderful, but my engineer brain says I need the accuracy of quartz...plus, it's quite a...

    Smart Car is coming

"have you noticed that every new generation of cars is a few inches larger the the last. I have a few questions for those who drive SUVs or Trucks or both daily, 1. Are you really using the car to it's full potential (example: actually carring heavy loads for work)? 2. Is your car really as...

    Smart Car is coming

Wow. Those things are notorious for not holding up for more than 40-50,000 miles. I rented a Metro once with about 44,000 miles and it was so worn out I drove around the block and immediately returned it because it was unsafe. I have my doubts about the safety. The British link earlier was...

Incandescent Bulb Banning Discussions - Merged

Re: Banning incandescent light bulb boondoggle Uhhh...that's why I put the link in to the Maine Dept. of Environmental Protection. That is verifiable. Of course, the problem is people don't dispose of things properly, and people do drop and break these things. People don't normally handle...

Incandescent Bulb Banning Discussions - Merged

Banning incandescent light bulb boondoggle So, you may have heard that the state of California is leading the way by proposing legislation banning incandescent light bulbs. They are to be replaced with compact fluorescent bulbs. Did you know that CFBs have MERCURY inside and if you break one...

    will surefire die?

For one thing, when you pay Surefire, you actually RECEIVE the product. And, if it has a problem, they replace it. You don't always get the lights when you buy Chinese (personal, firsthand experience) and service is hit and miss. Second why would you compare a Chinese LED to a Surefire...

Advice for a noob for driving on snow/ice

Practicing in an empty parking lot is one of the best things you can do. You learn best by experience, so get the feel for a skid and how to recover, as well as how loooonnnnngggg it takes to stop. I didn't see this mentioned, but when I approach a stop sign or red light (approach meaning 1/2...

Okay, Explain To Newbies And Us Oldies Why We Should Go To CREES Or P4s?

Good points here. Especially the "too bright low". I just received my P1D CE. Man, is it bright, especially for the size. But, low is really unusably bright compared to low on my HDS EDC U60. Low on the U60 is great for reading maps and the like in the dark when your eyes have adapted. It's...

UI Brightness Sequence, What's your preference

I personally prefer Med/High/Low, as Medium is what I prefer 90% of the time. However, my REAL preference would be to be able to program the order. If I were hiking or flying at night, where I would want to look at a map or GPS, I would prefer Low/Med/High.
