    Mag85 question

My potted bulb Mag85 works fine. Has Stock switch too. The bulbs are just harder to get. Aint quite as bright due to contact resistance but only AWR would notice:laughing:

    bulb frosting disappointment

I have frosted several hundred bulbs. If you want max "Throw" this is not what you want for sure. SureFire frosts their very high $$$ lights and uses stippled reflector to to get perfect flawless beam. AWR and my self prefer this over crappy looking disjointed beam from cruddy looking **** poor...

Alright! That's it. D cell LiONs are the answer

bwaites is intirely correct. These cells are not for the timid or unknowing individuals. They need to be iused ENTIRELY within the confines of their limits with regulated shutdown circuits when they drop to low in voltage and NOT EVER over charged.----------------KKKAAAABOOOM---------can result...

    Poor show Surefire..

The problem is with companies that have to much success and growth to quick. Their support team can't keep up with: A) Repairs in general. Too many. B) Engineering failures/disasters- Bad design- Bag manufacturing process. Been there, Work there. (Not SureFire) Unfortunately it REALLY pisses...

SL JR Luxeon. Unbreakable polycarbonate lens broken?

Certain Chemical solvents DESTROY/FRY polycarbnate instantly. Certain aromatic hydrocarbons. Metyl Ethyl ketone or Xylene or Methylene Chloride. Nothing is indestructable...:thumbsdow

    Poor show Surefire..

SureFire needs a recall to fix this. My U2 is a wonderful light with all that power variation for a store bought light. My switch "Feels" kinda fishy but has never died yet. These tales of flakey switches on a "Top Notch" king of the hill light from a top rated company are a bit upsetting.... I...

    4D Maglite - Should I upgrade it?

tm3, there is a lot of knowlage out here on CPF. Read thru it. I did mean to be crass at all. There also are some VERY serious builders out here if you want to spend $$ they can help you. And really cool lights don't come cheap. Plastic reflectors and plastic lenses melt in NO time on any...

how do i bore out a 2d maglite to accept 8aa? (NYC)

Still around, still prototype stage. Think there is maybe 4 of them. They work good. But there are quite many bored M@g bodies. There are far better cell soultions for the M@G's like CPB 2000 batteries- 4/5 A size- you stuff alot of them in there- You need to tri-bore the light to get them to...

New Mag85 Super Reflector with new outdoor BEAMSHOTS

Been mentioning this a bit on a few posts lately so I thought I'd mention I have been using mine on the 100 watt light and have not yet had the coating melt or discolor at all with 100 watt bulb like some older pre Super-reflector coatings I had. Very reliable and I have run the light for 20...
