I'll make this really simple. Does anybody know of a manufacturer that makes a 120v AC power inverter that runs from 18 volts? Not some gimmicky power tool thing but a standard plug in inverter? No use of 18v to 12v step down converter allowed.
Really not important and this is a great example of why. I know what all the major MFRs offer. Otherwise I wouldn't be asking this question. I'm not looking for a super overpriced super limited gimmicky thing. Just a plain old power inverter like they've had for 30-40 years.
The only question...
This is a great example of what I am talking about, and clearly I am not the only person who thinks it is a good idea:

I will not, however, buy ridiculously overpriced snap on power tools that don't perform...
Well, I think we can all see how you got such a high post count. I can't stand people that think they need to reply to everything when they have absolutely nothing of value to add...
Notice my join date and post count? I don't feel the need to respond to every thread for no reason. I am by no...
Not relevant/I wasn't asking for permission. There are lots of things that don't need a ton of watts. Snap on makes an 18v inverter for their batteries, but I'm not dumb enough to buy snap on products.
Yes, I already pointed that out, it is very easy to convert to 12v (you don't need to "fake"...
I have built up quite the set of 18v power tools and lithium batteries over the last few years. The latest are 9Ah/18v, for 162 watts, and I have 4 of them. I would love to power a small 120v AC power inverter with one of these, but they all seem to only work with 12 volt or 24 volt systems. I...
That's kind of like saying I should take a 1967 Mustang down to the crusher because it isn't as fast as a new one and uses more gas. It set the precedent. It was the trailblazer. And they just look cool. When I was a kid that was THE flashlight to have.
Mag lites have the extra advantage that...
I recently uncovered a box with my old Mag Lite collection. I always loved them when I was younger but today...well...they make good paper weights. I have a bunch of mostly 2D and 2AA lights....I'd really like to make them relevant in an age where a single AAA light will probably blow them away...
The batteries are smarter than you are...they will prevent this. Unless you have all 4 ports connected to the correct circuit, they will not charge. There is NO way to charge them directly from any source. I have quite a lot of Ridgid 18v lithium batteries, which are essentially the same as...
If you plan on staying the night there...you really shouldn't bring any UV! :candle:
It's more rare that a hotel is clean than dirty. I just took a road trip across the US, different hotel every night...and I brought my own sheets.
Nope...I climbed out several hours later, my clothes shredded and bleeding from head to toe from feeling my way through the sharp rocks in complete darkness. And yes, I should have had a backup. This was in the days of light bulbs and NiCd batteries.
Probably why I'm so fascinated with super...
Like others have said, I don't think it's necessary in single cell lights. Since most white LEDs run at around 3v, they are mostly self limiting on one cell - the LED dims and uses less and less power as the voltage goes down. This gives a visual indicator and almost protects the battery anyway...
I have some LED modules with built in drivers that are designed to operate from 9-30v DC. I would like to be able to dim them, but, because of the wide operating voltage range I can't really do that by adjusting the voltage.
If I got a cheap PWM controller from ebay, like the type you might...
Have you heard of google?
Either be useful or be gone. Telling somebody to search is never a useful answer and it's usually rude. I've already asked you once, please do not post here anymore. Your comments are not helpful to anybody.
