Why is it so hard to find lights in any other color than black?

Some of the current leaders in innovation, like Emisar and Astrolux, have a wide range of colors and materials. Check them out.

    BLF LT1

I received mine a week age (#53 on the list) and it’s absolutely fantastic. A new standard in lanterns. There is absolutely nothing else out there that even comes close.

A small and light 18650 EDC with high CRI?

I have exactly the same tip, you’ll find it here: https://intl-outdoor.com Review here: http://budgetlightforum.com/node/67661 (It does work with a protected cell, it’s just not possible to get the highest level of output, same as with all really high output lights.)

Foursevens: Research Poll- what do you want to see?

Why not let the customer choose the preferred LED? Take a look at what for example: Emisar, Fireflies and Astrolux can deliver. you can choose a LED with CRI 95-98 and still get more light than with lights from FourSevens. (If you want even more lumens you can opt for other LEDs.)

Foursevens: Research Poll- what do you want to see?

80+ is no high CRI in today’s world, with 95 and even 98 available from Luminus and Nichia.

Foursevens: Research Poll- what do you want to see?

You really should start using the new high CRI LEDs that have been available for some time now.

    Which rechargabele for LED candles?

Go with real Eneloops, it’s the best option since they can handle the abuse lights like these probably will have to endure. Also invest in a good charger, it will prolong the cells lifetime.

LED flashlight enthusiasm seems to be waning

For a long time flashlights meant MagLites. I was pretty happy with the 4Sevens MiNi 123 and the DRY (3xCREE XM-L T6 3×18650). After that came Manker E14 and Noctigon M43. The recent arrival of the Emisar D4 and the Astrolux MF-01 shows that there is plenty more to have. Next step will very...

I NEED A HIGH CRI EDC FLASHLIGHT

True, but throwers are (unfortunately) typically not high CRI.

I NEED A HIGH CRI EDC FLASHLIGHT

The D4 is in a class of its own. The only real alternative is the D1, that is if you need a thrower.

Given A $50 Budget, What Do You Suggest?

My vote would be for Emisar D1 or D4 (depending upon if you prefer throw or flood), hands down the best flashlights in that price range.

    Emisar D4

I have no doubt that the TM03 is a nice light, but it’s too bulky (compared to the D4) and expensive (more than 3 times as expensive as the D4) for my taste in EDC. Also you’re right, beeing a flashaholic, I “need” the wow factor of the D4. Furthermore, once bitten by the high CRI bug, you...

    Emisar D4

That is the one that gives the highest output. If you want a tad longer runtime (and can accept slightly lower output): VTC6. Aspire is the best 18350, but unfortunately (not only runtime) output drops a bit.
