I dropped mine last night from about 5 feet up and it landed on the side of the bezel. There was a slight scuff in the anodizing and the lens was fine.
I've been using a 7060 for just about a year now and it has been dropped in every way imaginable (even from a moving vehicle). It is definitely roughed up, but it keeps on ticking.
There was a runtime graph of the TK40 running for about an hour and a half on turbo mode. It's a non-issue, IMO, and the warning is there as a CYA kind of thing.
