Doonesbury Strip for 5-6-07 is about LEDs

I've got a few little LEDs that glow during the night in my room: 5 on my Clearwire modem 3 on the front of my Linksys router (and the big glowing Cisco logo) 1 each on my 2 UPS batteries 1 on my ViewSonic LCD monitor 1 on my cell phone The brightest, however, is the 5 mm (or is it just 3 mm?)...

    Looking for EDC flashlight.

I recommend the Fenix L0D-CE also. It's well worth the extra investment (~$50). I've been carrying mine for a few weeks and absolutely love it. The output from the different brightness levels is amazing. First, medium level (default) will make you smile. A quick twist on the bezel puts it in...

Foam - why not a metal spring?

If I recall correctly, the first Arc AAA's produced in 2001 didn't even have the foam. The battery would rattle around in the tube causing unwanted noise. The foam provided a simple solution. Back then, the Arc AAA was THE LED light to have. It spanked the butts off the Maglite, CMG, and all...

    American Dad Vs Family Guy

I like Family Guy because of all the 80's references, and American Dad is pretty funny too. Everybody was kung fu fighting! Those cats were fast as lightning ... http://www.americandadvsfamilyguy.com/

    Arc AAA-P + Photon II

I've been carrying the same Arc-AAA in my pocket since Feb 2002. It's been the back-up to a Surefire E2, Arc LS, Surefire L4, and a Nuwai Q3. The Arc-AAA never lets me down. It's bright, has a long runtime, and batteries are easy to obtain and replace.

    Do remote controls use LEDs?

I can see the bulb light up with my digital camera. I feel like Superman with x-ray vision.

    What's impressive?

Back in December 2004, a couple of co-workers and I were working in the dark in a bus yard. I whipped out my Surefire L4 to light things up, and everyone suddenly turned my way to see where all that light came from. A few of them were so impressed that they went and bought some Luxeon...

    What happened??

I remember those days, too. My very first LED flashlight was an Arc AAA in September 2001. Back then, the best EDC was the Arc AAA and Surefire E2 combo. I used to enjoy reading everbody's posts on how they liked and disliked features of the Arc AAA and the Arc LS. I think Gransee was the only...
