I think that an understanding of the fundamentals is what you are missing here. You need to understand the relationship between voltage, amperage and watts.
Watts = Volts x Amps
Mah = milliamperes per hour. This means that this battery can supply xxx amps for an hour (in theory).
As others...
Is it possible that the extremely bright red die is burning an image into your vision? This will cause you to see green remnants in your vision for a short period of time. Sorry for my lack of a more technical description.

You may want to consider editing the title of this thread. Since the batteries are clearly not the problem.
If you wired them parallel then you gave them nearly 4 times too much voltage. You need to wire them with 3 in series and a resistor to drop the excess voltage.
Unfortunately, no I don't. But I can tell you that the bare aluminum area is a spacer which is threaded internally for the McClickie, and externally to thread into the inside of the tailcap (which was also threaded).
The two most important components of any "Made in the USA" light are still produced overseas (the LED and the battery). I understand the importance of supporting the economy of the country in which I live (I think...), but then again maybe I don't.
The point is: I'm not going to buy expensive...
