    hyperboost preview

This is great George! I've been wanting a big boost driver (but not CCHIPO big) for some automotive and motorcycle projects that have been on the back burner. Cheers!

    CNC XPE bike light

This is a fantastic build! You've put together a really well thought out package! Nice work.

Cheapest way for 500-700 Lumens off 14.8V

Direct Drive a MC-E with an appropriately sized resistor. That is by far the cheapest way to do it!!

Very Cool! The beam pattern looks really nice!

    Big Light Prototype

I've been using a 13.2V 4Ah NiMH waterbottle pack left over from a NiteRider HID lamp. The pack is getting pretty old and I'll probably go with a 14.8V Lithium pack when it dies.

    Machined Triple MC-E

For this I used an obscure 3D parametric program I have for my Mac called Concepts Unlimited. I think the newest version is called Shark FX. I use Solidworks, AutoCAD, etc. professionally but I find that I like Concepts when it comes to doing projects for myself. It's super intuitive and has...

    Big Light Prototype

This style housing is probably more effort than it's worth. A triple MC-E or P7 light will be smaller, brighter, easier to design and cheaper to machine. Sadly, I don't have a CAD or CAM file to share. I machined it manually and didn't develop it in a CAD program. The design is pretty basic...

Custom made SSC P7 LED Bike lights

Jeez. These guys know what they're talking about EL and they really are trying to help you out! CPF has been far and away the most helpful technically oriented online community that I've experienced and some of the guys giving you advice have been playing the high power LED game for years...

    Machined Triple MC-E

Scoot, no worries... I have a feeling he was talking about the light. Thanks for the offer and I'll keep it in mind. I work as a machinist right now but I'm moving to Colorado from Florida at the end of the month. Depending on where I end up working I might not have easy shop access anymore. Its...

    Machined Triple MC-E

Thanks guys. syc- The Lexan works well, its easy to machine and very durable. Ktronik- Yup, IMS20s. Modded by opening the hole in the bottom for the MC-Es and "sputtered" to remove the beam artifacts and donut hole.

    Machined Triple MC-E

I machined it on a standard Bridgeport knee mill, but if I decided to make more I'd probably have a few CNC'd.

    Machined Triple MC-E

Check out the latest project. I wanted something that was at least as bright as my Big Light (http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?p=2896471), but low profile so I could run it helmet mounted. Specs: - 3x K-bin 4A tint neutral white MC-Es - hipFlex - Recessed IP67 switch - Direct...

Bike Commuter Safety: Reflectives + LEDs

That looks great, I like the Alfine rear hub too! I've never seen a "glo toob" before, is it illuminated by anything or is it a tritium-type glow material? +1 on the Superflash, it's bright!

    Dynamo mount for carbon fork?

Just run a dynamo hub! The new Shimano hub is pretty light and waaaay more efficient than a sidewall generator. ...or you could mount a sidewall generator to run on the rear wheel

    help with heat problem

I would love to see some quantitative data on the materials you're working with to make CF heatsinks. Can you post some data sheets or pics of a heatsink? What is the thermal resistance of the end product? There are a bunch of folks who would be very interested in the development of thermally...
