Help with power circuit for new bike light project

Here is an extensive LED driver list for inspiration: http://www.videofoundry.co.nz/ianman/laboratory/research/driverlist.php If you want to go the linear driver route (3xAA and 7135 based driver) you have many options, e.g. Low/Medium/High NANJG drivers with 2,8A as a starting point for your...

Olight S80 (XM-L, 26650 with integrated charger) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO+

The internal charger seems to have two contacts to the cell, and the external power supply also has two contacts to the internal charger. So I thought the external power supply could completely take over the functionality of both parts - and the light would be shorter. The situation would be...

Olight S80 (XM-L, 26650 with integrated charger) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, VIDEO+

I wonder why part of the charger is in the tailcap, which makes the light longer and heavier in normal use - compared with the 4Sevens X10, which is shorter despite having a deeper reflector. I would have preferred to have a smaller light and a bigger external charger. Also in my suggested...

Who still sells ITP EOA A3 Standard Edition?

    Xeno E03 (1xAA, 1x14500) - XP-G R5 Neutral White - Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS +

Actually safer than ICR ("Li-Ion") - the 1500mA draw is already the maximum for a 750mAh ICR cell. IMRs on the other hand can deliver much more power (AW 14500: 8C -> 4800mA), and the E03 doesn't draw more than the 1500mA on IMR.

    Thrunite TN12 Review (XM-L U2 - 1x18650, 2xCR123A): RUNTIMES, VIDEO, BEAMSHOTS +

Thanks for the - as always - very detailed review! I was on the edge for this one - after reading the other reviews i couldn't decide if i like the non-regulated output for 18650. But the high efficiency and the not-so-bad sag from 100% to about 80% after an hour is ok with me. :twothumbs...

4Sevens Maelstrom X10 (XM-L, 26650) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS and more!

Excellent review of a very interesting light! I'm impressed how efficient the driver is - you get roughly the same lumenhours out of 1x3900mAh as the 2x2200mAh lights, without the hassle of cell PCB protection jumping in (always at too low voltage IMO), and finding a pair of balanced cells. If...

4Sevens Quark Mini AA-2 (XP-G R5) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, and more!

Offtopic warning... :sssh: Even with planning ahead it's not always possible over a longer time - i tried to do comparisons of CPU coolers over a longer time to see the progress made, but after a year or so a CPU socket is "deprecated" and you have to switch your platform. Using a...

4Sevens Quark Mini AA-2 (XP-G R5) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, and more!

What program do you use for generating the runtime graphs? Would you be willing to offer the data for download so that inquiring readers could generate the graphs with only the data important for them? Also integration of lumens over time could be done for comparison purposes - currently i'm...

4Sevens Quark Mini AA-2 (XP-G R5) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, and more!

After searching the net about two years ago i came across your review of the Nitecore D10, and bought it. At that time the "flashaholic virus" didn't bite me yet. But a year after i thought: lights are kind of fun - maybe i need a bigger one, and after that a smaller one, and a headlight, and...

4Sevens Quark Mini AA-2 (XP-G R5) Review: RUNTIMES, BEAMSHOTS, and more!

Thanks selfbuilt! Your reviews are always reference class - the combination of runtime graphs, beam shots, size comparisons and discussion tell me everything i need to decide if i open my wallet yet again :grin2: And the timing was perfect - in a shopping spree i just snatched the Preon...
