I'm still addicted to the old Maglites

A 7D Vari-Beam showed up on eBay a while back (May 2020). Sold for $2K. There was speculation at the time, that this was a custom build inside the Maglite factory (by an employee), as there doesn't seem to be any verifiable evidence that theses were ever sold to the public. Attached screen...

I'm still addicted to the old Maglites

Three & four years ago, managed to get the 6 and 7C off eBay. One was still in the blister pack, the other was mint.

What flashlight do you keep in your vehicle?

One of these classics, using an Energizer Ultimate Lithium AAA. Small and easily stashed away in a front seat pocket. The tan version was only available in a promotional give-away a few years ago. Many of the previous colors have been discontinued, but some new colors keep cropping up on the...

    The Interesting Maglite 7C

turbodog wrote Ditto. Using my Texas Ace Calibrated Lumens Tube, I measured 81 lumens with original krypton bulb for the 6C. The 6C was purchased in original blister pack from Ebay (about 3 years ago). Measured 58 lumens in the 7C. This was also purchased on eBay about three years ago...

    RARE MAGLITES

I managed to get both a 6 & 7 c-cell about three years ago, when I was collecting Maglites more often. The 7 c-cell were popping up more often on eBay (than 7D) about three years ago. The 6, purchased on eBay (about 2019) was still in it's original blister pack. The 7, was absolute mint.

    Zebra issues?

I recently (March) had to return a custom order because it was never built per the custom order (their admitted mistake). I was given an RMA# and eventually the correct light was sent. No issues with customer service during the entire exchange.

    How To Calculate Run Time?

You will want to look up the ANSI FL-1 spec on runtime. Then you will have to decide exactly HOW you want to test for runtime (there are many roads). On my lights, I use a light-meter-data-logger, using batteries in the light with a known capacity. No "calculations" necessary.

Is ther a light meter app with logging

The app people are using on Android is the CeilingBounce app HERE. Sample runtime graphs from CeilingBounce in this thread HERE (about half way down the page). Although an iPhone has a light meter (for the camera), I'm not aware of an app that can automatically record/graph light...

    Zebralight SC53c and SC53w

No, same price. Just make sure you request it first, and get a CRM number, which I think stands for Customer Rrelationship Management.

    Zebralight SC53c and SC53w

. Well Zebralight said the custom order would take a few weeks. A little over one month, it arrived today with no prior shipment notification. Finally, my custom SC53Fc has arrived (with custom printing on the side). Now I want to do a run-time graph with an Energizer Ultimate Lithium. . .

Can I use my MC3000 to measure an alkaline battery?

The manual actually addresses this possibility: .

    Test/review of 10180 100mAh

Judging by the multiple manufacturers that design lights that use these, they must be reasonably popular; McArmy, Wuben, Fenix, Ultratac, Klarus, etc. I always wonder though, what those built-in chargers are doing to those batteries. The only external charger I have (that I trust to charge...

    Test/Review of Charger SkyRC MC3000

ProgressiveRC has just listed the MC3000 on Amazon (LINK) for $101 plus shipping $7.38 (two-day shipping in the US). That's cheaper than I got it from NKON. One of the questions on the listing was:

SkyRC MC3000 "capacity" Reading - Conflicting Info

After more observation, I now see that the app and PC Link are showing the results of the last phase of the 3-part test (C/D/C), in other words the charge portion. I think it would have been better if the app and PC Link labeled it "charge capacity" or "C capacity" for clarity. Edit update...

    Olight i3e being phased out?

By coincidence, I recently did a runtime graph on the silver version with a Panasonic Eneloop Pro and an Energizer Ultimate Lithium. Hadn't posted this anywhere yet, but you just opened the door. Light meter (with data logger) was a Reed Instruments SD-1128SD. , .
