Hi Light force
Thanks for posting. Pleased I'm not the only one
My attempts to get mine working have failed.:mecry:
The wiring to the driver circuit in between the two board, one of which mounts the leds, is toast as well.:shakehead
I would appreciate it if you could show me how you have done...
Yes, hindsight is a useful tool along with glass hammers & chocolate radiators.
I had expected longer service life & to not have to replace half the flash light in the space of 2 yrs.
Maybe I am expecting too much.;)
Cheers
Hello
Yes, 3.7 volt Li-ion with tabbed pole extension pre-spot welded on.
What is for sure is that the quality of work on the internal circuitry & wiring is not good imho.
I can see why they try to make this a sealed unit.
The soldered joints are not that good either.
What I can't...
Gents
More research & a gentle hint from a couple of well meaning members has meant that I have purchased Tabbed li-ion 18650's
This avoids the possible :poof: scenario hopefully:rolleyes:
Thanks again all those who took interest.
Cheers

Hello
The point is well taken re soldering li-ion cells.:poof:
I am no expert at soldering but I have been doing it for over 25 yrs mostly in auto electrical harness & lighting repairs.
The production cells are soldered with contacts so I have little choice but to replicate.
With soldering, I...
Thanks to both of you for your help.
You confirmed my own thoughts.
I have purchased 3 x AW 18650 2600mA & will break out the soldering iron.
Still, buying quality li-ions still sets you back about £40 worth here with not many suppliers.
Thanks again.
Gents.
I would appreciate your experienced views on a problem with my Shark 1 HID flashlight.
The unit is about 2.5 yrs old & out of any warranty.
I would reckon that its been charged a maximum of 150 times & run for long periods discharging the unit fully often in one single use.
Then recharged...
The battery issue.
It's not affecting my example.
I run the flashlight from full charge for nearly 50 mins on 24w.
On a walk, the unit will not be switched on or off so no hot starts
& the extra potential voltage draw on initial light off @ switch on to
further drain the battery.
It easily...
I have a Shark 1 10w/24w.
Its such a useful tool.
Slow to light off though @ over 25 secs to full brightness.
I use mine all the time.
I have some pretty hot Incans & leds but its run time
@ 60 mins on 24w & 2 plus hours on 10w make it so practical.
Great throw, especially for size.
Not so hot...
I only own one.
The Wolf eyes Shark 1 24w.
It has been a revelation.
It has made all my other flashlights redundant & is now my
main light for hour long dog walking duties.
It even saw duty on vacation where we had unusual bad weather
in the Canarie islands off the coast of Nth Africa...
It's early days with the Shark
I fully charged it & used in the appauling rain the UK is experiencing at the
moment.
The run time on full power is about 60 mins.
The battery issues that may be appearing in certain examples of 24w
WE Boxer are not evident.( again, its early days)
The flashlight...
Re: You guys always go for quality of light. I got quantity.
Does that thing come with a shoulder strap:D
Only in America...
( By that, I mean it's doubtful in UK that you could use such a thing in our
congested country & not upset a 1000 other people.:()
Pics would be good.:)
Cheers
Hi
I am very pleased with the performance versus compactness of this flashlight.
Its now my first choice for late night walking duties.
The throw is amazing for its size.
For this kind of use, the slow light off is not a handicap imo.
Its curious to note that WE class this as a tactical light...
Re: WTB. The "Torch" by Mac
Yep
Macs good..no question.
If he does you one...there may be others who would jump in for another run.
"Torch 2" anyone ?
Good luck.
Re: WTB. The "Torch" by Mac
"Power is nothing without control":)
And that pair is a devastating combination.
(Think the 1911 is somewhat redundant though)
Kalkwasser
Good luck with your search for "The Torch"
( Have you approached Mac to make a special ?)
Good luck
