    flashlight parts in the uk

hey guys, does anyone know where I can get decent parts comparable to.those.from mountain electronics? unfortunately USPS or royal mail has lost my last 2 orders, neither have accepted responsibility and as such mountain electronics are out of pocket by over $100 in this last 2 weeks! as a...

Do threads and tailcap buttons need lube for waterproofing?

it's unlikely to leak when dry, I'm assuming we're referring to the tail clicky. the usually construction for these is boot - washer - switch - locking ring. when the locking ring is tightened it pushes the switch I to the washer which clamps the rubber between it and the tail cap. being dry...

    MT07 illuminated switch questions

Hey guys. been absent for a long time. Recently acquired a myford lathe and have finally gotten round to starting a project 2 years in the pipeline. I've machined down a 46mm to 30mm driver adapter for use in the original haikelte MT07 (2s2p version). I'm going to be using the 30mm 2s driver...

    Dedoming XPL2,XPG3, XHP50.2/70.2

No problem. part of the reason I joined the other forum is they are heavily mod focuses and work through a problem as a group, where as here it seems to be if it's dismissed then that's it and no one tries to find a solution. One guy there pointed me in the direction of another who had sliced...

    Dedoming XPL2,XPG3, XHP50.2/70.2

Hey guys, just thought I'd share some knowledge with you all about the above mentioned LED's. They can all be fully dedomed with pretty decent results. They just need a little more work that their predecessors. Firstly they are NOT distributed phosphor. The dome is crystal clear, it's yellow...

    C8 extension tube info.

Hey guys. So I've recently built a new style Convoy C8 into an XHP50.2 power house. I didn't want to run 2 18350's because the run time would be appalling and at 8-10A draw on turbo then i feel this would seriously stress even the best 18350's. So the hunt for an extension began. Fast tech...

    The Tint Snob Thread

I'm not a massive tint snob but I've come to like a good tint. Recently I've been experimenting with various LED's to find a good option for a build for my brother in law. The XHP50.2 80+CRI is just WOW!!!!. In daylight the hotspot is quite yellow but then spill blends seamlessly into daylight...

    Buck driver for momentary.

Hey guys. Does anyone know of a buck driver that can be used with a momentary switch only? 6v output up to ~5A with 4s input. Thanks Thom.

    'Over-volting' an LED.

See I'm just stuck to modding convoys at the moment as I'm testing LED's to see what fits my preference. I'm quite happy with the mtn17dd FET I'm using at the moment. UI is a touch clunky with the gruppydrv Rev.1 firmware but it does the job.

    'Over-volting' an LED.

So just thought I would report my finding now my build is done. 2x18650 VTC5's 8.4v static 7.88v under load. 8.2A at the tail cap (very short thick wires to multimeter) The C8 host handles the heat relatively well. On turbo it gets hot fast but it does also cool very quickly when the output is...

    'Over-volting' an LED.

Awesome, what sort of current are you getting at the tail cap? I've got an extension tube so will be running 2 18650's.

    'Over-volting' an LED.

Hey guys. So I've been doing some research and I'm a touch curious as to whether I've interpreted the info correctly. It's regarding direct driving an XHP50.2 I will break it down into points as I understand them and then if anything seems wrong please point out which and why. 1. An LED is an...

    Need some knowledge.

Well I've got no 18350's and only vtc5's...... Undoing the bypass on a mtn17dd shouldn't be too hard, I will remove bypass from tail too and hopefully Rt will be enough to keep current down. Alternatively I may buy some lifepo4's

    Need some knowledge.

Hmm, the driver Spring is pre bypassed. Leads are quite thin though, tail Spring was bypassed but I may remove it. I'm a bit worried now.
