I'm going through a number of batteries that have been lying around for ages and cycling the AA / AAA's to see if they're totally dead or and need replacing...

    Afterthought of a question ... how come the discharge rate should be approx 1/2 the charge rate ... I flew RC things for a few years using Lipo batteries that drained a battery in 10 mins yet recharged at 1amp for a 2000mah battery ... i.e 2 hrs. Can NiMH not handle the same discharge rate?

    I ordered the Sofirn SC18 for the wife for dog walking and was impressed with it so have ordered and am waiting delivery of a WK03 as it has the warmer 5000/5300 tint to compare. Which tint did you go for?

    Cheers for eveyone's input and to answer the above ... for this particular torch it's just for clarity, I have torches that are pleasing to the eye that I use for walking the dogs etc. .... this is purely to keep me on the trails rather than in the ditches :D Judging by the overall response...

    Generally are higher tints conssidered better for visibility than lower tints ... looking for one for cycling and we do quite a bit of narrow paths on the edge of fields so seeing clearly is fairly important to stay on the paths. Would a 6000k be better than say a 4000k ?

    Is there a way to check a battery's health, I've certainly at leat one that if I charge it still takes a good percentage of it's original mah but if I put a torch on high / turbo it almost immediately switches to a lower setting ... I'm guessing this is because the battery is old / in poor...
