Sold/Expired SOLD: Modamag R/O Quadimire in purple body

Re: Modamag R/O Quadimire in purple body I tried building one of these a few months ago and burned up three out of the four emitters because of the positive ground. I didn't properly isolate the slug on the back of the emitter and they went :poof: when I connected 6 colts to test the emitters...

    Li-Ion Battery Shoot Out

The Powerizer RCR123s certainly perform better than the other RCR123s tested, especially at higher amp draws. They are very good at maintaining their voltage at 2 amps too!

Is there a BRIGHT 6-7V bulb to fit a MiniM*g?

Yes, what bwaites said. The second Carley 1499 sign-up thread is in progress now in the 'Group Buys' forum. These little bi-pin bulbs will require a special ceramic socket, metal reflector, and glass lens, but they are really bright. I think they are about 15 watts running on two 14500 li-ions.

Mag625R-4d (full write up NEW PICS)

Re: Mag625R-4d (full write up PICS) The hotdriver works by bleeding off the excess voltage as heat when the Vbatt is great than your setting for Vbulb. The FET is capable of bleeding off only so much heat before it burns up. The limit is about 10watts max (AWR can confirm this but I...

Mag625R-4d (full write up NEW PICS)

Re: Mag625R-4d (full write up PICS) What Delvance was saying is that in the first line of your first post you accidentally have "Mag623R-4D." The title is correct, but you have a typo in the post. Awesome power, Flakey! Good job.

What to build after a ROP?

Buy yourself one of FiveMega's battery holders with the charging jack in the tail. You simply drill a hole in the tailcap and the charging jack sticks out there. You can then plug the charger right into the jack on the battery pack without removing the pack from the light. FM also has the...

    Mag35-8

You really don't get much extra runtime out of the extra cell with the hotdriver. The extra voltage is used as overhead to maintain constant output through the whole battery charge. The initial extra voltage (the difference between the input (Vin) and output (Vout) voltage) when the charge is...

What to build after a ROP?

I'll make a more specific recommendation. While the other have glorified and mystified your intrepid road ahead, none have bestowed upon you the counsel you seek. It sounds like you're fairly new to this game and the ROP was an excellent choice for a beginner. It's very bright, very easy, and...

    Got Lumens?

Mac, I think it's just plain cruel to post pictures of this and "The Torch" without any beamshots. I think you need to line up the Mag85 (for reference), "The Torch," and finally this... thisss.... (name suggestion coming next).... "Inferno!" Yes, I like that. You can use it free of charge...

D-cell powered ROP Voltage and Amperage Results

This is a case where the formulas just don't work above 10-15% overdrive. Actual readings are much more representative of true power than re-ratings. For the Pelican bulb to output 35 watts at 7.56v, it would have to draw about 4.6 amps. In actual use it does not draw that much current. My...

Any "moderate" upgrades for a 2D Mag?

A Streamlight Strion bulb is very bright and runs on 3.6v if you decide to go with 3 'C' cells in your 2D. But, I agree with Kyrosphinx. The Pelican 3854 SLA low output bulb is a great option to run in a 2D with six NiMHs. This also gives you the option of using the high ouput bulb if you...

A2 Anodizing Questions - With Pictures

Re: A2 Anodizing Questions I just spoke to my anodizer today about black HAIII. He said that the black dye is nothing more than an added step - or three additional dips, to be precise. The parts are natural hardcoated with the final addition of a black dye and a sealer. The process and...
