    Black Diamond Apollo Pictures

Sorry for the late reply. It seems to be regulated. On high, the light level holds fairly steady for about 4 hours and then drops off quickly.

    Black Diamond Apollo Pictures

gunga, You're welcome. It works pretty well as a room light. It doesn't light up the whole room like an incandescent lamp or a Coleman (gas) lantern, but it's enough light for simple tasks and up close it's good for reading.

    Black Diamond Apollo Pictures

The Black Diamond Apollo lantern has been on the market for about a year now. A number of people have posted here on CPF that they have them, but no one, as far as I know, has posted any pictures. So this is my contribution. I wanted an LED lantern for use at home during power outages. My...

Energizer Energi To Go Step Up Circuitry

I bought one of these last month for my relatively new Nokia phone. My experience is that it works with lithiums and alkalines but not at all with my Ray-O-Vac NiMh batteries.

    Operating System Poll

I dual-boot Windows XP and Linux (Mepis). My usage at home is about 20% XP and 80% Linux.

Calling on praying CPF'ers for some help

For what it's worth, I think you made the right decision. When you have something bad hanging over your head I can testify that it's infinitely better to have a plan and take action rather than helplessly waiting for the hammer to fall. Good luck to you.

    Scott Adams (Dilbert) likes flashlights

I remember seeing a Dilbert cartoon where the boss was explaining that the flashlights had been removed from the emergency kits because "people would play with them." And Dilbert said incredulously, "Who would play with a flashlight?" So I thought there was no way Scott Adams was a flashaholic.

Open Office - Free MS Office Alternative.

Pretty much what Paulr said. I use OO at home on my Linux system, but they also have a version for Windows. It does everything I need for word processing and spreadsheets. When you save files you have the option of saving them in the OO format or in Microsoft-compatible format. I've never had...

How do you feel about english written by foreigners?

I don't think most native English speakers understand what a difficult language it is to learn due to the irregular grammar, the words that have multiple meanings, the slang, etc. When CPF members from non-English speaking countries make a post I don't expect it to be perfect; I appreciate the...
