One of my desk lights is a Maratac 26650 light. The cover over the micro usb port fell off and disappeared. On a whim, I placed a magnetic micro usb connector in it place. Been working great. On a number of lights and devices that simply need power and not data, I love using magnetic connectors to charge them. I got my connectors on Amazon.

Looks pretty cool. I wonder if you hit the center pin and the ring with a voltmeter if it registers anything? I'd be concerned about short circuits with something metal touching the connector, but maybe it's protected against that.
