SPERAS EST MAX, reflects the excellent quality of other products from the same parent company tested by me previously.
EST MAX is a compact flashlight (14 cm), which has 2 switches, one at the rear and one on the side and 4 light levels (in addition to the Strobe). It uses a Cree
EST MAX is sold with a proprietary 3200mAh protected lithium battery
in 18650 format and is rechargeable via the USB-C port with a maximum autonomy of 180 hours.
SPERAS EST MAX is IP68 certified (2 meters submersible) and has impact resistance up to 1.5 meters.
These features make the EST an ideal flashlight for outdoor use (hiking, camping, etc.), for law enforcement and for search and rescue operations.

SPERAS EST MAX arrives in a light-coloured cardboard box with the classic writings reporting the main characteristics that distinguish it. Inside the package we find, in addition to the SPERAS EST MAX torch with the 18650 3200mAh lithium battery and the CLIP installed, the USB-C charging cable , the lanyard, 2 spare O-rings and the manual.

SPERAS EST MAX offers some optional accessories including the RMC V2 remote pressure switch.

Good construction quality, beautiful design without sharp edges and construction residues. It is constructed of aluminum alloy with a hard, military-grade matte black anodized finish, produced by CNC precision machining.
It can be held in the hand despite its length (140mm). Weight is 185g with battery inserted. It's very simple to put it in your pocket or jeans.
Thanks to the installed clip, SPERAS EST MAX does not slip easily once placed on a table.

SPERAS EST MAX is composed of two parts, head with body and tail, and is managed by two switches, one at the tail and one on the side. As contacts with the battery we find a plated spring on the positive side and two springs, also plated, on the negative side. Square cut fillets arrive fairly lubricated.

The supplied battery is a protected lithium in 18650 format with 3200mAh (10A). The battery is proprietary and has a double pole at the head with protection against overcharging and over-discharging. SPERAS EST MAX has reverse polarity protection to protect against incorrect battery installation.
Unfortunately, classic 18650 batteries cannot turn on the flashlight.

On the head of the SPERAS EST MAX we find an optic with OP reflector with a Cree XHP50.3 HD LED in the center. With this LED, SPERAS EST MAX, reaches a maximum brightness of 2500 lumens and covers a maximum distance of 279 meters. The ultra-clear glass lens has abrasion-resistant AR coating.
The very aggressive crenellated bezel is particular and highlighted.

EST MAX has 2 switches, one on the side and one at the rear. On the side there is a side switch with a residual charge indicator LED in the centre.
This button has a slightly recessed seat and has an excellent, firm and audible click.

When you turn on the flashlight, the indicator in the center of the side switch will indicate the remaining charge level for 5 seconds:
Green: 100% - 70%
Orange: 70% - 30%
Red: 30% - 10%
Flashing Red: 10% - 1%

In queue we find the large mechanical button that we will use to turn the flashlight on or off (turbo mode). Good feeling with the button which allows, by pressing it halfway, to momentarily illuminate (momentary ON).
There is good knurling on the tail cap and it is possible to insert the supplied cord which is always useful during use.

On the opposite side of the side button there is the USB-C format charging socket protected by a rubber tab. During the charging process, the charge indicator in the center of the side button is red while when the battery is fully charged, the SPERAS EST MAX stops the charging process and the charge indicator turns green.
The time needed to fully recharge the supplied 3200mAh battery, according to my tests, is approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes (charging takes place at 1A max.).

BEAM and RUNTIME
As can be seen from the photo, the beam of the SPERAS EST MAX has a beam without obvious artifacts with a wide, white hotspot followed by a light green crown that turns laterally towards violet.
When used outdoors the color is pleasant.

SPERAS EST MAX has a fairly powerful beam to illuminate well at low and medium/high distances. The values in candela (lux/1 meter), found by me with measurement at 5 meters, correspond to those declared by SPERAS.

Immagine

From tests carried out with the OPPLE Light Master Pro, two meters away from the sensor, the value of the CCT color temperature and the Ra color rendering taken with the brightest level (Turbo 2500lm) correspond to 6011 CCT and 69.0 Ra. The Duv obtained is 0.0082

The Runtimes were done indoors with a temperature of approximately 18°C, using the supplied battery, a fully charged 3200mAh 18650 (4.17V).
SPERAS EST MAX has a temperature control system (ITS) with real-time detection to ensure stable output.

I would like to point out that the values expressed by the graphs must be evaluated above all as a reference because they were made with means and conditions different from those used in the laboratory.

In the first test, with the highest level (Turbo) of 2500 lumens, there is a sudden drop after approximately one minute and 20 seconds which brings the brightness to approximately 500 lumens. Subsequently there is a slow and constant descent for up to 4 hours after switching on before the battery runs out.
In the second test, with the (High) level of 400 lumens, there was a long and constant descent up to almost six hours before the battery ran out.
When shooting outdoors you have good brightness and without burning your hands. Good autonomy also considering the type of battery.

SPERAS EST MAX Unboxing and Use

CONCLUSIONS:
SPERAS EST MAX is a simple to use and quality torch. Like other SPERAS products tested previously, EST MAX also has quality aligning itself with the level of the most famous brands. Excellent, for me, the color of the beam with a cold light but not too much.
The very aggressive bezel is highlighted and particularly appreciated.
Speaking of light levels, they are well spaced although I would have appreciated a few more levels both at the top and bottom.
Too bad for the choice of the proprietary battery which partly increases its obsolescence.
SPERAS EST MAX is a good purchase given the quality of the product and the price at which it is sold.

Thanks for reading the review.
