This actually proved to be pretty effective. It moves enough air to make a substantial impact on the body temp, and having the shroud on actually makes it _easier _ to find the switch.

similar to a barrel cooler in the competitive shooting arena.
People either buy a branded cooler, or buy an air mattress pump and make it work the same but moves a ton more air.
The more air you move the faster the barrel cools down.

That is really interesting, I've never been around competition shooting so that is the first I have heard of it. Thanks for sharing.

Heat is not good so they have all kinds of tricks for moving air... shrouded barrels, heat shields, barrel coolers, etc.
