I don't recall anywhere selling the new MagLED reflectors. Maybe call Maglite again and give them the serial number of you light? What did you do to the previous reflector?

:welcome: and good luck with your search.

i tried buffing it to give it a better shine cause it seemed a little dull and the polish took the chrome paint right off, my stupidity

Yikes. Mag reflectors aren't all that great to begin with, but touching a reflector almost always makes it worse. I found that out the hard way too.

Your best bet would be calling Maglite again. Since the Rebel D-cell Mag is rather new it doesn't seem replacement parts are available elsewhere. You might also try posting a WTB: over on CPF-MP?

just wiping the dust off with a microfiber cloth scratches the finish it almost seems they paint them with krylon chrome spray paint

Don't touch the reflector, you can only make things worse. IIRC, good reflectors use vapor deposited metal (usually Al), which is a fragile (but reflective) coating.

The window of the light is plastic, so it could also be the window being "foggy" not the reflector dulling.

Try calling them again. Mention that it is a DL series light, and that part #108-000-036 was already sent to you but does not fit. I don't think you can get the reflector anywhere else...

Ask specifically to speak with a technical specialist, they know what you're talking about. I tried getting one about 4 months ago and was told all current production is going into new stock... ask them to pull one out of another light for you, and offer to pay the other reflector price! Might work.

While you are waiting for the reflectors to be offered (hopefully someday...) maybe you could paint the inside of your ruined reflector white? Maybe not the best option, but at least you could use it as a disaster indoor floodlight or something.

I also really want to get some reflectors for the newer Rebel-Mags. Ive had alot of fun modifying/stippling the older style reflectors, i cant wait to try it on the new ones.

I emailed Mag when the new designs hit the streets. They plan on having parts available at places like Flashlight King some time this year (2010). Otherwise persistence with the tech support people is the only recourse.

Chris,

I'm subscribing to this thread to see how you make out. I just submitted feedback to Maglite on their website with the same concern. Their dedicated "DL" parts page shows the same part number, 108-036, for the DL reflector as for the traditional reflector. I too am in need of at least one or two of these when they become available. I'll let you know what response I get from the feedback that I submitted.

Hey, good news. I received an email reply to my feedback thanking me and saying that as a result, they've corrected the anatomy of the DL page. And so they have:
http://www.maglite.com/anatomy_spare_DL_LED.asp

New deep SMO rebel reflector part number: 108-846

They're also having their sales directors contact their retailers to advise them to update their pages as well.

Any word on places to order these? Do they stock them for sale separate?

I live about 10min from their parts center. I could pick some up and post em for sale. I want one myself for my SST-90 Mag.
